I’m in the greys here so I hope someone reads this. Anyway.

Around here it’s supposedly statues of a pineapple on the front stoop or in the front yard. I used to work with someone who insisted on this, and she’d point out anyone who was wearing something pineapple related. I always figured that it was just someone who worked for Dole or something.
FWIW, Miata owners are the worst about whining about front license plates. The. Worst. And I say this as an owner.
Yeah that’s not a compelling list. I live in Illinois and there are only two states on that list I would consider moving to, and then only to specific cities.
Yeah- my dad ran a couple of EX coupes of this era and while I liked the way they looked just fine (his last one was a really nice dark metallic grey, with some alloys with I think some dark painted trim on them, and the combo looked really classy for an economy runabout), the Si never really stood out, even in blue.…
I am told via another comment that Haynes owns Chilton these days. Apparently it’s just a case of badge engineering - like how some people won’t buy a Chevy but will buy a GMC, some people probably swear by Chilton manuals and wouldn’t buy a Haynes. I’ve not even considered buying a Chilton manual since the early 90's…
I will say that Haynes manuals tend to be a bit better than Chiltons in that respect. Not as in depth as an FSM though. My favorites are still Bentley manuals, at least for old British cars.
I also use zip ties to label my spark plug wires. One zip for cylinder 1, 2 for 2, etc. Cut them off obviously but it makes it easier to remember and you don’t have to label them each time you mess with them (not really a problem on newer cars but I check them quite a bit on my MG). Plus I kind of like the little tidy…
The 117 was what I was trying to remember. But good call on the Dino as well, there’s a definite similarity there too.
I think that’s how the article defines it, and I kind of agree. Sure, I first saw South Park Santa vs Jesus on a video that had clearly been downloaded and then recorded complete with browser tabs - but IIRC that video was first distributed on physical media and made it’s way to the web.
That said a lot of people are…
No, it’ll probably be a typical six speed, with “seventh” a super low crawler gear marked “1LO” or something. Hopefully the gearing is better spaced than the Wrangler (or other cars I’ve driven - six speeds seem to always have one odd gear that’s not quite as high or low as you think it needs to be, and you kind of…
If I’d designed it I probably would too. As it stands I think it’s a little weird, the buildings just aren’t to my style.
I like the idea of this, and it’s probably something I’d actually do since fake storefront types of displays are some of my favorites in museums. That said I’d end up with something looking much more like the main street of my actual hometown, and not some odd cobblestone and brick village (it doesn’t look very…
It is. I also think the fake Christmas tree isn’t actually supposed to be there, and is a leftover decoration.
My ‘96 Miata was in the second category - I DD’d it for 16 years, most of which without a garage even in winter, and it wasn’t until the last couple of years that the failures started to get expensive and inconvenient enough that I started thinking about buying something new, and just dealing with payments again. (I…
Whatever they are, they look sweet on that RAV.
I like the idea of this - it’s totally something I’d do, since one of my favorite things in a lot of museums are the false storefront types of displays. Hell, it’d be the life size version of the model railroad I’ve been building, my favorite part of that was designing a town for it and naming all the stores. But I…
Oh yeah, I love the look of the S4 - in an interesting thing where the later “fat Elvis” version of a car looks really good!
Yeah, that would be the obvious solution these days!
Nice. I like the color matched spoiler. I mean, I always liked the 80's spiders with the black rear spoilers on them anyway but matching the paint is very sharp. It’s kind of like the guys who paint the bumpers on later MGB’s to match, it looks quite modern then.
