While I’m perfectly all right with this take, I feel it’s entirely location dependent. You’re in Texas, right? For fun I looked at the weather in Amarillo, since it’s pretty far north in that state (I felt picking someplace like Houston or San Antonio would be cheating). It’s 65°F right now. I’m in Chicago, where it’s

You ever seen that movie “Christmas Vacation”? Remember that bit with Cousin Eddie emptying the chemical toilet of his RV? It’d look like that. Maybe without the stogie.

I see (non-EVO) Lancers fairly frequently, followed by beat up later Eclipses. I can’t actually picture their current lineup so maybe I see them more than I realize. I can’t remember seeing any of their older trucks in a long time.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I think I saw it like two or three in the theater when it came out. - and it was the first mostly adult film I got to see on my own as a young teen. So my friends and I went to it a few times - then it hit the local one screen neighborhood theater, which only charged like a buck for a show.

I generally don’t drink hot beverages, so when I do have coffee or tea it’s iced. I get the weirdest looks in the winter when I do that.

Honestly? Fried foods and menthol cigarettes. At an apartment I used to live in, the kitchen vent fans just vented into the walls. Since it was a cheapish apartment, if you vented something really strong it would get into the kitchen next door. So I’d get whiffs of fried something when the woman next door cooked. But,

I remember, about two weeks after starting driver’s ed, my folks let me buy my first car, which because my dad wanted another sports car to replace the ones they had before kids, ended up being an MG Midget. Dad taught me how to get the car rolling in a parking lot, and I practiced it in our driveway, backing down the

I can give that one a pass. Fiona’s drinking mouthwash at work - I’m pretty sure that anything outside her own anger is probably lost in an alcohol haze.

So how many comments until the ubiquitous “they aren’t safe” comment?

Weren’t there like three other books in this series or am I just thinking of the movies?

That is literally what a cozy mystery is. Gently suspenseful. (In fact I believe there’s even a Murder, She Wrote book series out there as well)

I’m not too surprised - ISTR that at least one large section of the roof has collapsed as well. Between the decay and scrappers cutting bits out of the buildings (there was a guy just driving an excavator around the property a few years ago, knocking stuff over) I’m surprised any of it still stands.

I never can remember if it’s “Channing Tatum” or “Tatum Channing”.

I imagine you’re just exaggerating, but if they’re actually L-section then someone’s butchered that car and it probably needs a new chassis. MGA side rails are box section, not L. They’re actually very strong, at least when not compromised by rust or damage.

MGB seats don’t go nearly as far back as you think they should. I have a roadster & had a ‘96 Miata when we got it, and even though the B was noticeably smaller than the Mazda I was surprised how little legroom there actually was behind the wheel (plus the steering wheel itself is giant compared to most moderns, for

This was just about my favorite car at the time - right up there with the Escort Cosworth and the RX-7.

Dang, I didn’t even know it had returned.

Yeah, I’ve been driving Miatas year round in the Chicago area for about 20 years now. Hell, I think sixteen of those were done without the benefit of snow tires, just all seasons (wasn’t convinced they made a difference/couldn’t afford them anyway). I think the only times I got stuck were when I did something actively

I find amber lenses easier to see blinking in bright sunlight. Yellow bulbs just seem to blend in to a shiny reflector.

Yep. I do remember having to monitor my dog’s poops for like a week after he ate some wallpaper (he’d eaten quite a bit of it). If we were on a walk I usually waited till we got home but I know that I saw a big piece and immediately started studying it on a busy public street.
