We make our own dog treats - they look like little cookies so that’s what we call them. I think we got the recipe from the breeder we got him from. They’re simple to make so we don’t spend an undue amount of time doing this, and don’t think it’s particularly unusual.

This is a pretty regular occurrence. Lumber sticks out way less than if we use the Accord and fold down the seat. It’s the sole reason we left that luggage rack on when we repainted the car.

I get the same thing about my Miata. One guy literally turned around and walked away from me mid sentence when I told him I drive it in the winter.

They’re almost exclusively made by Avon these days - same as with Can-Am and F5000 (I go to a few vintage races each season and it’s almost all you see on the bigger cars. The Lotus in the photo is on Dunlops, I believe). You get a bit more variety in the production car and smaller single seater classes, as you can

He invites Midge to chat further at the deli (which is apparently where all Jewish business transactions take place)

Something something never join a club that’d have me as a member.

You can actually expand that to old cars in general. Go to any old car cruise in and it’s exactly the same attitude - old guys who don’t like anything built after (insert year they graduated from high school or got married). DJ playing fifties and sixties music. It annoys me because I’m far more interested in classic

Man, there was an XT parked near me for like a year (it moved, so I knew it ran), that was nice enough that it was probably reliable but ratty enough I wouldn’t have had any compunction about using it as a winter car. I never managed to find the owner and see if I could pry it loose, not that I really have any place

I like the stinger for Conversation Street. It’s more reliably funny than the actual bit.

SIARPC was hit or miss - I generally ignored the interviews (particularly in later years) although it was fun to hear what some people’s first cars were - but some people were genuinely fun to watch as they wrestled with a decidedly non-performance car on a track, particularly people who didn’t already spend time

I started to hear a thudding sound - or at least sensing something like that - but I also read the whole article before looking at the gif. So I was primed to hear it. There sure as heck wasn’t anything playing.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever fuckin’ heard of. Of course it’s from someplace like the Dakotas (runs off to fish an Old Style and a pickle from the fridge to try it).

This is technically called the “club slice”. I am both amused and ashamed to know this.

It looks like something California Custom Convertibles or Straman would’ve done back in the day - which may very well be the case. Only two owners from new, I wouldn’t be surprised if the first one had the conversion done in period.

IN my mind I hear it in David Schwimmer’s voice. “We were on a break!”

I went NP because it falls into the “nice-ish” price category. It’s not egregiously overpriced, and I’d bet you could get the price down a bit if you flashed cash.

I consider McDonald’s “acceptable”, in that I know what I’ll get when I eat there (Subway, BK, and Wendy’s fall into this category, and I refuse to eat at Taco Bell). I stop there on road trips when I need to eat and I have to get back on the road. I eat there in a strange town when it’s late and I don’t have the time

I remember it - IIRC, Obama and Biden “went out for lunch” to a burger place near the White House, and I saw a couple of reports about it (because let’s face it, a President turning up at a fast food place is interesting), and all of them talked about his order.

Quite right - my father had a ‘67 MGB, and it was Iris Blue (which is a powder blue, very light)- this was a particularly unusual color at the time, and I think I’ve seen one in person (though it featured on the cover of the brochure and in advertisements). Similarly, I have a 70's Porsche brochure, and the car on the
