I am a lawyer and this was a shitty argument for the defense to make. It was his stepdaughter so I doubt he didn’t know her age.

My perspective as 1) a survivor of childhood molestation by a relative, and also as 2) a person whose relative was on trial for infanticide. I’m also going to make a distinction between Onika Maraj and Nicki Minaj here.

It would have been shocking if they found him not guilt. The evidence against him was overwhelming. At one point, the defense seemed to argue that because the victim lied about her age and the prosecution didn’t provide her birth certificate, it was impossible to prove Maraj knew how old she was. I’m like, really? WTF?
