this description just made me want to watch this season of a show I have only intermittently hate-watched. I don't know if that warrants a thank you, but...thank you?

I have a hunch that you don't hate raining on the parade at all.
PREACH!
I think it's more of a "true AND"...both factors point to the tendency of law enforcement to overlook crimes committed against those who are already institutionally disadvantaged (e.g., victims of domestic violence, people of a lower SES, POC)
"I think it's possible to update your impression of people while still not wanting them in your life."
is this a real thing? It's fucking fantastic!!
I guess it could've been worse?
as a"joke" he posted a series of short stories about his ex girlfriend on his facebook status. (E.g., "One time she made me come home from my first day at a new job because she was slutting her wrists in the bathtub.")
I agree, and I'll also add that rape culture makes this shit murky for people who have been assaulted. (e.g., "I didn't explocitly say "no," or I agreed to some roughness, so it wasn't rape-rape.")
In addition to what you've said, Ghomeshi left them woefully unprepared; he didn't give them all the information that would have been critical for them to even attempt to do their job.
unfortunately those people are still EVERYWHERE. Their numbers are dwindling (thank god), but there are still so many....
This is absolutely the best thing I've read all day. I laughed so hard that I started crying. (Not in that figurative Internet "I just ruined my keyboard" way, but in the literal, "I just terrified my cats with my sudden outburst" kind of way).
you weren't asking me, but as a lady I will say that I am a fan of body hair. (I think it's sexy!) That being said, I'm mostly neutral on manscaping. If it makes someone feel nice, that's just fine. I do mourn the loss of chest hair to a zealous manscaper but to each his own.
I am going to start using this hashtag combo on the regular. It's perfect.
Seriously. I've dated a bunch of fellas who wouldn't qualify as "blood hounds" (or, if they did, they kept it under wraps), but who were totally game to have period sex without any hangups. The first time I dated a guy who thought periods were "gross" was such a turn off.
Now Mirena makes this a non-issue, but I am…
More than once upon rebuffing someone's advances I've been treated to some variation of, "Fuck you, you're not that hot."
single 29 year old me would like to thank you for this ray of sunshine!
.....okay, but the woman in the story didn't "attack a man" bigger than her. She pushed away a man who was assaulting her, after asking him to stop. So it's fine to ask people to read what he wrote, but he maybe should have read the article in question? People are castigating him because his comment has no relevance…
I fucking LOVE Go Bayside! How far wrong can you go with guests like Paul F Tompkins?!
Nathaniel and I live in the same city. I'm sorely tempted to visit that Burger King and see if I can spot him (the "inspection" and mayo should make him relatively easy to peg?)
