Hey any step at all that will help put Kars for Kids out of business so we don’t hear that commercial again is fine with me.
I owned a C7 Z51 with 3LT in Shark Grey...not my first color choice but it grew on me. Bought it because the dealer knocked $10k off the brand new car which put it at about what I was planning to pay for a 2LT with fewer options.
The answer is 7 liters, 7000 rpm, and 505 naturally breathing horses in a C6 Z06. That engine is, and will continue to be, legendary. No VVT, DI, or DOHC. Simply a dry sump, big cam, over-square LS racing engine with a sound that may never be made again.

The C5 FRC looks fantastic and even though the numbers look dumb next to 2020 numbers, they are still ridiculously real world fast. HP numbers are so inflated now people think 350+ is slow.
C7. I daily’d a Z51 Stingray for over 2 years ( only traded it to start my C8 nest egg). Wonderful car in all 4 seasons. I’ve sat in the new Supra but not drove it. The interior of the two are about equal, at least at the 2LT trim. At the 3LT trim the C7 is a nicer place to live daily. Lot of hard plastics in the bimme…
The dual sliding doors on mini vans are a relatively recent addition. At the time, most (including the original Chryslers) had one sliding door - so that was a pretty common configuration.
C7 Z51. I may be biased since i have one, but the Z51 is faster, offers a manual, and has more cargo space. You should see the looks on people’s faces when i come out of Sam’s Club with a full cart and proceed to load it all in the trunk of the Z51. Priceless.
I’ve been kicking around this same idea. Used c7s should be plentiful and cheap, and as far as F/R platforms it’s about as close to ideal as possible. I’d say c7 wins, but I’d chose Supra at the same price point, event without the 500HP, if it offered a manual. It doesn’t have that option though, so I gotta go used C7…
Just go get a C5 for a song. I know people who have no business owning one car let alone 2 and the second is always a C5.
