Agreed. Any Hummer post H1 has been a fashion accessory. Which is fine. That’s what a lot of vehicles are. This continues the tradition, but with an electric drivetrain.

Yeah, the trunk on the Fusion Energi is a disaster. Had one as a rental and could hardly get our suitcases to fit.

I’ve always hated these. The bloated hatch look is so unattractive and the name is terrible.

Obviously a matter of taste. I love the rims on the CMax featured here. It’s the only redeeming factor on an otherwise ugly car IMO. Those focus rims, on the other hand, do nothing for me.

I don’t get it. But my wife tells me that there are a lot of things in the world I don’t understand, and that just because I don’t understand them doesn’t mean they’re bad.  So I’ll go with that.

The problem here is trying to save $200-300 cars. There’s a reason these battered, completely unremarkable cars were going for a couple bills. Because they’re not worth fixing. Usually they’d go to the junkyard, which is a perfectly fitting place for a car like a Dodge Stratus.

I guess you do have to admire his commitment, twisted though it is.

generally agree with your thoughts here.  The Crossfire is at least interesting.  Most of the rest of the collection is just depressing. Keep the truck - that’s practical. Keep the Crossfire, because it’s interesting and also doesn’t look like a pile of rubble. Keep one practical DD (I was leaning toward the Cavalier,

Yeah, I think you’re absolutely right about that. The current government was never going to take the best approach, so we had to settle for what could get through Congress.

Completely agree. People love to latch on to any example of waste or corruption to call government programs into question in their entirety. It’s the same as people saying that millennials’ consumption of avocado toast is the reason they can’t afford to buy houses.

Agreed - I don’t think that’s accurate at all. Based on my craigslist browsing, I think something like 250k is probably the average lifespan for most cars. So 100k is “entering middle age”.

Yeah, to me it’s the cosmetic bits that are the real issue, both in terms of finding replacements and the pain of installation. With a few exceptions (the inboard wheel bearings on old Jaguars; the Audis that have to have the whole front of the car removed to service the timing chain or whatever), fixing mechanical

That is a fantastic fleet! Would love to see pics if you’re willing to share.

Totally agree. I was a big GM guy at the time, so my view was GM >>> Ford >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dodge

Totally agree that it’s hard to figure out how the pandemic (and what I believe will be a pretty permanent long-term shift toward remote working for many workers as a result) will impact EV adoption.

I feel like this is kind of an auto journalist/enthusiast gripe that doesn’t have much traction in the real world. It’s understandable (and I’m certainly guilty of it too) — we want something new and exciting. Journalists want a clean sheet design to write about. Just look at the reams of content that can be produced

Great post. If our government just had the ability to think rationally about this, the solution is basically exactly what you described from your home country: just press pause on everything for a couple months. Mortgages, rent, corporate loans, credit cards, student loans, and everything else. Your mortgage was

When we bought our Alltrack, there were three interior colors offered: black, beige and a nice chestnut brown. Unless you were ordering from the factory (and we couldn’t, due to time constraints), you could either get a boring exterior color with the chestnut brown, but if you wanted one of the nice (ie colors other

I think one of Tesla’s smartest moves has been selling their cars as a piece of technology. Because we endure absolutely horrendous reliability from “technology” with a shrug. We may complain a bit, but we are generally prepared to accept that our phones and computers will inexplicably stop working periodically. If my

I’ve ranted about this before, but it astounds me the percentage of Teslas with douchey vanity license plates. It seems to be an integral part of the Tesla ownership experience. Perhaps a license plate bragging about how you don’t go to the gas station is how you make yourself feel better that you paid luxury car
