I remembered an article from Salon a few years ago (looking at it now, actually four years ago) when this placed first opened. I feel like this is a good follow up article to what Pinkham wrote: http://www.salon.com/2010/06/09/con…

When my mom told my sister and me that she was divorcing dad, my first thought was "that makes sense". I was 11, but I could see that.

Eh, just knowing that there was someone else who agreed was the biggest help for me. It's awesome that your ex and son are able to work things out with a therapist and that both are comfortable with that.

I agree with this to a large extent, but I'm glad in my case my mom gave up on it. I went through most of my childhood hearing from others how wonderful my dad was when he was a total asshole to me. Since my parents never argued in front of us and he had a pretty public job, there was nobody who I could talk to about

Yep, this is personal for me too. My parents aren't divorced, but ever since I was little, my mom would vent to me about my dad and she rarely said a good thing about him. I hated him for a long time. At this point in my life, I can't say that I hate him but all those years of him treating my mom like shit and her

I can vouch that every single iteration of Conflict Kitchen has been amazing. It is done very thoughtfully. When you get your takeout from them (it's actually a little kiosk, not really a restaurant), your food is wrapped in beautifully designed wrappers done in the decorative style of the country, with interviews

I came very close to putting in a "Christ, I can't fucking wait for the comments on THIS one" paragraph.

It's almost like I'll have to find validation within myself, instead of from guys. It's my lot in life.

NOT SPECIFIC ENOUGH. (I have that exact thing, but I use it to make vegan butter! :D)

Oooh! I have those and spherical ones for whiskey!

That would be my Mom. She sends money to those sheisters that she can't afford to & I unfortunately don't make enough to help if she gets into dire financial straits. Regardless of the info I provide that they're crooks, she believes that the "Lord will keep her safe from the wolves". Wolves are less harmful & the

It knows...

Well, for one thing, white people are going to throw fits about what's taught in US history courses, because America can't just get by on "patriotism" and "Manifest Destiny" anymore.

Preachin' to the choir, here. I can't understand how anyone - especially women - can step foot in a Catholic church.

More and more I come to see celibacy as a form of perversion — If one believes that God made us in his/her image and built sexuality in as a core part of our beings, then the Church's insistence on celibate clergy becomes a serious theological problem.

I haven't done this in awhile, but now seems as good a time as ever. A few of my all-time favorite Gwyneth quotes:

On Gawker this morning they mentioned that he also wrote a book called Rag Doll. Here's the summary on Amazon:

He showed up in the comment section of a mediocre review of his book on the AV Club and held forth about how very, very wrong his critics are, with bonus name dropping. It's pretty great. http://www.avclub.com/article/the-tr…

Now that you are out of the grays I can respond.
