I too was assaulted and injured at the VA. At the time I was employed as a nurse. I was sexually harassed daily, and then one day I was attacked from behind while hard at work doing my job.

i was the first person to come back from maternity leave at my place work in like. it was a culture shock for everyone. they attempted turning the small conference room into a pumping space (and only because the law said we had to have one), but it just didn’t work out. i had to place my pumping times on the public…
But it does beg the question why she feels the need to do it. I doubt it’s part of her job description, so even if it drives her nuts she could take the same approach as her male colleagues. I mean something like that is so far down the priority list I can’t believe it hasn’t already been assigned to someone more on…
Pants with buttons, snaps or zippers can leave artifacts on xrays.
Wait... an organization for marlins decided to advertise with “white lives matter” and “blue lives matter?” It sounds more to me like some right wing troll wanted to find some sham front to use those two anti-BLM phrases and just asked themselves “hmmm, what’s white and blue?” Honestly, it was probably a 50-50 shot…
just want to say I am a female physician who used to work at the VA and I definitely dealt with harassment and catcalling, from both patients and from other staff members there. It got to the point where I avoided one hallway at all costs because one of the staff members there was so damn creepy. It was so degrading…
Not really surprised. A lot of male journalists seem to have a strong streak of conservatism underneath their open minded sensitive facade. Just look at the way they treated Hilary vs Trump. And to top it off , Washington DC is in many ways a deeply conservative area.
Part of why they get scoops quickly is that they have some good, talented reporters who have successfully built relationships with sources.
Oh, they did that very purposefully. If she can’t get heard, it’s a signal loud and clear for everyone else to not bother even trying.
In my group at a large, 100-yr-old tech company, for example, the lifestyle is for a single man who is able to be away from the home all week. Women are also looked to as the ones who can write grammatically correct sentences, and know how to use PowerPoint/et al — when we ALL should know this.
I want to know who hires these men who can’t write. Before I got fed up with it all and went out on my own, the number of times I heard “well, you’re such a good writer, so you can write the manual” or “will you edit this 26 page legal document (I am not a lawyer and don’t know legal writing conventions) so we can…
“‘There’s a dweeby beta-male quotient at the Post. They’re not openly macho,’ a female staffer said. There’s an understated respectability that is secretly pernicious and sexist operating in that place.’”
“Anything left there will be handled by one disgruntled managing editor,”
This also sounds like several large Technology and Finance/Investing companies. No one can tell me that there aren’t any female and non-white women who are talented technologists and investors.
In reference to your experience with Wilkie, I just wanna drop this in here:
As a regular Post reader, I’d also like to know why ANY Weinstein news coverage ends up in the Lifestyle section sandwiched between the Miss Manners and Date Lab columns.
Ironically I have been forced to put my family out of my life because of politics, but things got very very bad
You know... it’s as if Liz Warren’s campaign read the article on Jezebel regarding the accesiblity issues with the Iowa caucus and actually tried to address a major issue for folks getting to the caucus! Yeah for the article Jezebel, and Yeah for Warren’s campaign!
At this point I really do think Elizabeth Warren is hands down the best candidate in the race
I wanted to take my 2-year old and knock on doors for Elizabeth. Before I signed up I emailed my local campaign chair and asked if kids were welcome. If I needed to duck out because my kid was having a melt down, would that be held against me?
I received a lovely email in return. Outside of pleasantries, here’s what…
