The writers didn't know she was alive after the scuba trip until writing the final episode, Among other reasons, Lindelof said he didn't want to be answering questions about the fate of all the other characters for the rest of his life - that's why Kevin gave the mini info dump at tea with Nora. http://www.vulture.com

Lindelof said he wanted it to be deliberately ambiguous (they don't show anything to the viewer from an omniscient viewpoint that verifies either scenario) so that the viewer can make their own mind up about what happened. So everyone is going to have an opinion and it will be right. :)

This is a great overview of the making of the last episode mainly but it reveals a lot about the sausage making process so to speak so reader beware (if you just want to enjoy the episode on its own without any explanation of the making of it).

Well when she tells the scientists I never lie to convince them, then contradicts it in the next scene with her it's her living a lie in Australia as Sarah and saying she does not know Kevin to the nun. It's meant to be ambiguous so we can project our own meaning onto it - whether or not she is telling the truth or

The goat question was also a test for Kevin from Nora (before he finally told the truth) - they witnessed one being ritually killed every day in Miracle.

I actually was wondering immediately about the fetus if Nora's story were true.

Laurie's appearance threw me for the same reason, also at that point in the episode wasn't sure what universe Nora was in, if she was over there, had Kevin jumped over or was this a different Kevin or is she temporarily dead like International Assassin or what.

The more recent Flesh and Bone managed to stick about half of the episodes about a ballet company into a strip club.

Her character in True Blood was kind of similar to this in a weird way.

Just finished Carnivàle on HBO Now after a month of watching a couple episodes a week. That felt like a strange mix of the X-Files with a couple of other genres, with Clea Duvall playing a surprisingly large part. Also HBO made a *new* short ad with David Simon talking about The Wire and how nothing has changed in

If you are borrowing from a library/renting, the turnaround time on discs might be a long time (some of the popular seasons of shows have a months long turnaround time at my library five years after they came out) so one might want to watch a season or disc, then listen to the commentaries before moving on. If you

You haven't seen absurd rates until you watch Jane the Virgin or The Last Kingdom, The last Kingdom is averaging one very long book per four episodes of TV. There was one plot point that lasted a year in the books that took one episode in the second season.

Oy vey! Aldrich sure asked a lot from the viewer, there's a later scene that is entirely in German and Yiddish without subtitles until the Mennonites? and Gene Wilder switch to English and I believe Wilder uses Hebrew for all the prayers his rabbi/cowboy character performs. I can see why this film flopped but it's

I'm going through a rewatch - don't listen to the commentaries (if getting DVDs) the first time through, they have several series ruining reveals in them.

Last week ( I think) I watched D.E.B.S. after seeing it here on the AV club, it had great potential but kind of a mess of a script, the tonal shifts like that are hard to pull off as Melissa McCarthy's semi recent spy comedy showed, , need a lot more action/characterization like Jane the Virgin manages to pull off in

It's going to be a long time coming without some precipitous event that mobilizes people. It took proposition 187 to get a lot of steam before Latinos/Hispanics broke out of their historic low turnout voting bin in California. Texas would have gone Clinton based on polling all adults but likely voters polls

The problem is that that number probably is not likely voters and as we saw from the election, ignorant rural voters account for a minority of people in this country and still were able to nudge the electoral college for the worst President of the United States. On the other hand it wouldn't have mattered which GOP

What's depressing is almost this exact thing is right now the unironic top post on r/the_stupidiestpresidentever, which shows up when I browse /r/all on reddit.

Sadly, my experience watching Big Love informed me that magic underwear is very unsexy, even on beautiful women.

There is plenty of cheering for Trump in Utah and other GOP strongholds since the Republican party turned the notion of environmentalism into a partisan issue.
