If Justice League bombs they’ll probably either fast track Flashpoint either as a Flash movie, another Justice League movie, or some other kind of team-up movie. I also agree at this point I don’t think Cyborg can headline a DCEU movie and get the kind of return on investment that DC is looking for on these movies.

If Justice League legit bombs (and I think it won’t no matter how bad it is) most of the films set in motion will continue...but not all. I’ve always said that Cyborg was never going to see the light of day no matter what, but if JL tanks it’ll be all but written in stone. And The Flash may not get made either as a

No. It was so dumb. Dumber than anything else the show has done. And that includes Theon’s entire story.

Did anyone actually buy this theory in the first place?

I agree! If McGregor was a more skilled boxer he would’ve won for sure. Especially if Mayweather was worse than him at boxing.

There is little of the plot—or its entirety—that can’t be condensed to a Hollywood elevator pitch. “What if The Matrix was also The Last Starfighter?”

I’m exactly Cline’s age and played with 90% of the toys/games he vomited up in that tome, and I was overcome with self-loathing around the book’s 4th list of entertainment detritus. It was like 459 pointless Family Guy references, but without laughs. Or exactly like 459 pointless Family Guy references.

I’d be excited about your riveting 17-6 loss to KC in the divisional round, but to be honest with you, I don’t think you will see anybody in the playoffs.

“See you in the playoffs”

Personally, I’m going to give Turner the benefit of the doubt. If she says that the other girl is a better actress, then I believe her, and it’s not like it’s uncommon to give rolls based on popularity rather than acting ability.

I have no quarrel with either fighter cooking up this foolishness in order to get paid. That’s what they do for their livelihoods. But a commission’s function is to oversee the safety of fighters performing in their its state, and to at least demand a simulacrum of parity on the part of the participants. Approving

They really do take this shit personally, don’t they?

Boxing teaches hand speed, conditioning, footwork and combinations. Those things are ALWAYS good in MMA. So they are certainly going to start off at an advantage to other novices. But there are many collegiate/olympics wrestlers coming in too and that’s a good start, and if I had to choose between a a boxer and

Hey genius, the author literally wrote a book about fixing matches.

Thanks for reading the piece. I think this ends my career writing about anything that to do with MMA, though.

I’m very flattered. Thank you.

I think if you start from the premise that any competent modern MMA fighter has sufficiently superior grappling skills than any professional boxer, then you sell out for the takedown and accept whatever body shots you have to to protect your head while closing to grappling range, and the fight’s over. That’s the key -

Is that the only sentence you read? He literally contextualizes it IN THE NEXT SENTENCE!

This isn’t an article about an MMA fighter. It’s an article about a boxinng match between a professional boxer and an amateur.

This was a beautifully-written piece, Charles.
