This is a great article. You certainly lay out a philosophy of how to approach this problem, but I have no confidence at all that New York will be able to pull it off. Like, literally none. This is just whistling in the wind.

I agree with your first paragraph and I stand by my point of evaluating on a case by case basis because that is what rational people do.

I would not have survived my brief stint in corporate America....”

Then why does every native Californian I know love this shit and talk about it constantly and go there multiple times a month? If we are being honest, a huge proportion of tourists (American or otherwise) have hardly even heard of in-n-out, whose fame seems to be promoted exclusively by people in California

it’s a cult

I totally agree with you. Just don’t understand the obsession some people have with In-n-Out. Not good food to me.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma downtown they have added biking lanes, but they place them against the curb and place parallel car parking spots outside them, so the parked cars become a buffer against moving traffic. That’s not to say that accidents do not occur because many people, drivers/passengers and cyclists are not paying

No. Trump wants the auto manufacturers to not comply with California’s emission standard. He is, in fact, urging them to produce cars with emissions higher than what they are willing to do to.

Totally - why bother trying to stop any air pollution unless you stop every single instance of it at once?

What does this have to do with simplifying regulations? Everything was going according to plan before Trump decided to get involved. His people are the reason things are so complicated all of a sudden.

In-N-Out is FINE, but I think the mystique of being of the west coast icon drives it's business more than the taste.

They have an ideology and that is giving their buddies more money. The rollback is not about raising emissions, its about using more gas. Gotta keep the oil billionaires in good standing.

I read the NYT article this morning. The thing that jumped out at me was this:

This is the same frustration I have about people who claim to like White Castle’s.......anything but especially the burgers. Gas stations have better food and yet, they’ve been around forever.

He has to do 3 years at Florida State first.

It’s the only way to avoid the fact that the woman in the final gif appears to: (a) be cast as a cheerleader, one presumably cheering for the high school football team, and thus further presumably also a high schooler; and (b) 27 years old.

“he choked his cheerleader girlfriend Maddy so badly that she had his handprints bruised onto her neck and only managed to sneak his way out of trouble by framing a perfectly innocent man for rape and demanding he confess to the abuse while planting a witness who he was blackmailing.”

This is terrible analysis and I can tell you are not a real football fan. Obviously the handsome, fit, 6-4 white quarterback threw the ball perfectly. The more darkly-pigmented receivers just didn’t run their routes correctly.
