I’ll admit that there probably is a bit of a blind spot to criticism of Captain America in my mind (which is funny because I never enjoyed his comics as a kid, my brother did.) BUT there’s a difference between sacrificing a life in the heat of the moment with no alternatives AND giving up a life early on for a win

Isn’t that just a common motif in Marvel movies, especially decapitation of arms/hands: Bucky’s arm and Ulysseus Klaw being the most notable.

Is it though? I mean, that plays against the entire morality theme of the movie. Marvel has been pretty good at consistent morality. This one is about consequentialism (Thanos, Gamora - Quill, and Wanda-Vision being the prime examples and Doc Strange saying he’d trade Spidey and Tony to keep the stone.) vs duty bound

I’ve found that very very few places understand them anymore. It was difficult using them in 2008. It was practically impossible using them this year. The concept is a relic.

Let’s say you have a family member who has an irrational dislike of the flavor of Brie. What other cheese could you use? Camembert is also rejected.

Wait.... Michelle Wolf is white and Halsey is black? I am so clueless. I actually thought an unspoken part of the reasons the WHCD was having a problem with Ms. Wolf was her (presumabled but wrong on my part) ethnicity.

Thank you for noticing the running slow-mo advertisement. It bugged me too when they didn’t use it in the film, which was only noticeable to me because of the lack of Hulk. Granted, I would rather have them create who advertisments out of material not included in the film a la Jaws than spoil moments but I don’t have

Then I forgot a line of dialogue.

Or he knew that they had crossed the path where there was nothing but loss. A) We don’t know how far into the future he looked. B) We don’t know if one of the actions (Quill) pushed us outside of one of the 15 million variations he viewed.

I agree with your statement. Since you opened up a discussion of character and story mechanics, I’d like to add that I just feel like Marcus & McFeeley (with the Russos) failed filmwriting 101 by dusting Star-Lord. Shouldn’t he be one of the few heroes around to right things because he made the fuck-up? I guess I’ll

There’s a lot of space between villainous and heroic.

Don’t forget that people lose their sense of taste and smell as they age.

I kinda feel like this dog is your spirit animal

AMEN! I went to a local “Taphouse and tasting room” with 15 craft beers on tap - 13 were IPAs. I tried the other two. One was a smokey porter which was okay, the other was something just as hoppy as an IPA, but masquadering as an amber ale.

Do you have recommendations on how to start storing with Plex? It’s been on my to-do list forever. I figure a dedicated home PC with a last gen core i5 should be sufficient, then it is just hard disk space that costs. My job sometimes requires prolonged periods away from home, so I figure this could be useful.

Thanks. I wasn’t sure because I figured an actor would say actor, etc etc. I was guessing you were a sword-swallower or some sort of spoken word performer. This is far more interesting. My limited exp with theater stems from HS tech theater. As an engineer/sound designer, what artistically differentiates you from a

What is a theater artist?

Dude. This is a business. They offer certain products. You choose from the products. That’s the deal. Once a person works in a kitchen, they realize that comlicating orders doesn’t just affect you, the server, and the cook (not chef, cook. There is nothing wrong with being a cook. The chef runs the kitchen. The cook

What’s truly funny about that is that I got a lot of pressure and tactics from Toyota when I bought my current car ten years ago. I honestly enjoyed it because when the dust settled I had them over a barrel due to bad inventory planning and internet access to dealer prices. I actually enjoyed making them capitulate

This is humorous because appliances’ quality have gone waaaay downhill in the last few years, especially my old beloved GE.
