I love this so much I’ve got half a mind to download this game I otherwise wouldn’t be particularly interested in just to support the idea. It’s great to see someone (who can afford it, I hope) be so... compassionate to consumers as to let them determine the value of their experience. My only gripe is that once the

I just looked him up, since I didn’t know his work at all, and it looks pretty cool! Thanks a lot for the reference! But yeah, not inspired in any way, I’m just discovering it now :-D

Off topic, but are you a fan of Brad Neely (China, IL), by any chance? The animation (but not the art style) is very reminiscent of his stuff. Just wondering if there’s any overlap.

Not a lot/any of them to my knowledge, but I won’t pretend there never has been one before, as I just don’t know :-D

Thank you very much! I hope you’ll enjoy what you play, though feel free to report back either way - feedback is always useful and appreciated :-D

Thanks a lot for the article :-)

Absolutely! I’m not pretending I’m inventing anything here - but I think you’ll agree it’s not a commonly used model on Steam, either, and having the base game free is not something I personally have seen done on Steam before. But I’m still sure someone, somewhere has done it... the point was never to be the first,

People like it, so I guess yeah, you are missing something.

Oh man, this reminds me of the single best pvp experience I’ve ever had in a Souls game. I was in Shulva in Dark Souls 2, and a person invaded my world right as I was going down the slope from the first bonfire. I stood at the edge of where the buildings first begin and look out over the city, shield raised, searching

Agh - this looks good, but I’ve already got a backlog of Dark Souls viewing material (which is in itself an absurdity) - Kay Plays Dark Souls just keeps eating up all of my time, and then I’ve got all of Vaati’s DS3 stuff that I had put a ban on until I got through the first half of it.

Unless the camera goes crazy, which it is occasionally prone to doing. I absolutely love DS, and deaths are ALMOST always your fault... but occasionally, OCCASIONALLY... they’re not.

This is why I love the series so much. People make fun of the eternal DS advice of ‘git gud,’ but I think there’s a lot in that that reinforces one of life’s most important lessons:

I’m sure a lot of people told you to “git gud” or some such nonsense, but there’s nothing wrong with not enjoying that game. Anyone who says otherwise is just being a jerk.

This is my major complain about people that demand Dark Souls to have an easy mode because they feel “it’s cheap”. The game doesn’t kill you, your carelessness does. Tried to rush through a swarm of enemies? you’re gonna die. Missmanage your estus? you’re gonna die. Not leveling up and planning the growth of you’re

There’s a lot of things like that, mostly TV or Movies I watched and hated it or loved it right away...until I really thought about it. And my opinion would change a bit here and there until that movie I loved I realize isn’t good at all or that show I thought was boring was incredibly deep once I gave it a chance to

I enjoyed all the RPGs you cited. But above all of them I love the Souls series. I was part of that group of people that played Demon’s Souls when it came out back in 2009. It was crazy hard, another level of gameplay that asked the player to get her/his game up a notch.
After all of these years putting 150+ hours to

Christ, don’t be sorry. I started with Demon’s Souls day one in the US.

I’ve -never- looked back.

I understand (though I do not agree with) the complaints surrounding Dark 2 and 3, but I enjoyed them all.

That said, the central thrust of this article holds true: nothing will ever be Demon’s Souls again, for me. The

You never die for unknown reasons. The reason is clear, you f’d up.

Rosaria best girl.
