I am assuming my enemies have infiltrated the Jezebel voting system in the hopes of making my head explode.

Just seeing the word makes my jaw clench and brings me back to those dark days when some putz made the the unforgiveable mistake of misclassifying cheesecake as a pie.
GChats get you out of making phone calls! There is nothing purer and more deserving of celebration than that.
Old and wise.
Internet Social Division: I still cannot believe GChat lost. What do you do all day at work when you're supposed to be working if not cattily GChatting instagram links of a Mutually Agreed Upon Frenemy to each other?
You're obviously under no obligation to answer this, but in what way do you identify as a minority?
That's an interesting idea. The ice bucket challenge was purportedly to mimic some of the feelings of ALS. Maybe this is to mimic ASD. I can pretty much guarantee that that wasn't the thought process, but it's a solid rationalization. It's still incredibly dumb though.
Well, it is something that would make many people on the spectrum profoundly uncomfortable so...
That will do nicely thank you. I appreciate the all caps enthusiasm. It adds something, I think.
I'm nothing if not succinct in my rage.
Can we make an effort to insert a "fuck you Andrew Wakefield" line into every discussion about this so people know the name of the person who kicked this bull shit off by falsifying a medical study and selling his soul and the lives of thousands of children for the chance to line his pockets?
I recently discovered that it is better for my blood pressure to take a bemused and patient correction approach to science on the internet. The vein in my forehead has since stop pulsating every time I turn on the computer.
Yeah, I figured it had to be. The odds of the same researcher running a 230,000+ woman study on birth control pills twice seemed highly unlikely. Almost as unlikely as hormonal contraception causing CD.
I'm going to get this laminated and carry it around in my wallet.
Never let anyone say that scientists don't have a sense of humor.
I posted this to someone else below, but I'm pretty sure this is the original study. It's from 2013 so I'm not sure why it's suddenly being picked up again.
I was so baffled that I forced a friend to look to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. This was a weird game of telephone where the Daily Mail did a random interview —> telegraph picked it up as a new study —> Jez reported on the telegraph.
I just spent a solid five minutes looking for it with no success. None of the articles even mention what journal it was published in and Khalali doesn't have anything on Pubmed since 2014.
