I think three years is just about right. Sure, they may not have the hang of sharing yet when the baby is first born, but it’s better in the long run—they’re close enough to be friends but far enough apart to not be as competitive.

I honestly don’t even know if my current checking account has overdraft protection. It’s the type of account where there’s a minimum balance to avoid the monthly checking fee, so Mr. Bookworm and I treat that level as our “zero” and make sure to always stay well above it.
