Yeah, but look at Serena Williams. One of the greatest athletes in recorded history and she very nearly died in childbirth. This politician is talking out of his ass with no nuance.

I think the issue is that obesity is such a wide ranging term and the BMI scale we use to define it is outdated and flat out wrong.
Except he is wrong, because he’s suggesting that is the only reason for the maternal mortality rates in the US, and that pregnancy is not otherwise dangerous. Which is objectively false.
Not only that, but banning Trump demonstrably limited his voice. It turned the noise from him way down. Banning him did exactly what it was supposed to do: limit his platform and his ability to spew hate and foment violence.
I’m not sure if you’re definition of inceldom is correct, this sounds more like a generalized definition of most manosphere reactionaries. I’m pretty sure incels specifically are people who believe they’re incapable of getting laid in society (this realization coming from taking the ‘black pill’).
I feel like someone needs to coin a better term than “incel” for Criston. The problem wasn’t that no woman would fuck him, it was that a woman wouldn’t devote her whole life to him. And he reacted to a simple rejection by getting incredibly violent and hateful.
It’s fairly simple, context.
What do women who don’t menstruate or give birth think about using the term “women” when what is really meant is “people who menstruate” or “people who can give birth?” Because that usage erases THOSE women.
Right. Women are more than body parts. So if you want to specifically address people who have uteruses, it's best to address... people who have uteruses. Since women aren't just uteruses. But again, nobody is stopping you from saying women.
I agree that women are more than a series of body parts, which is why it’s dumb to pretend that “women” is synonymous with “people who can give birth” or “people who menstruate” or “people who have a uterus.” Using more accurate and precise language than “women” to describe people who do things like menstruate…
A woman, I’m guessing, since it seems like that’s how you identify. I’m not sure what else I would call you or what it is that has given you the idea that I’d call you anything other than what you want to be called.
Yeah I’ve been googling like crazy and a lot of pieces seem to be from people identifying with Larson. Way fewer willing to own up to identifying with the needy weirdo who had no idea so many people were laughing at her behind her back.
Lord Acton, paraphrasing William Pitt the Elder, said that power corrupts. Michelle Obama said that power reveals. I, a nobody, will argue that power draws. Show me someone corrupted by power and I’ll show you someone who was corrupt to begin with.
Which is exactly where it comes from. There’s a chronological correlation between women starting to work en masse and men making less, but that’s not the causation. The causation was the fucking Reagan administration, which dismantled protections for workers everywhere, broke unions and basically ensured that…
Want someone to blame? Look at Reagan. Corporate tax rates went down, and rules were changed so that corporate bigwigs started to focus on short term profits to benefit the shareholders and maximize their bonuses. That led to playing games to keep expenditures as shown on the books down like layoffs right before the…
Yeah, sorry, I don’t give a shit about your feelings in the face of a public health crisis the likes of which we’ve never seen in our lifetime. Priorities.
I can’t believe the people legitimately out here saying that we shouldn’t tax Musk fairly (because, be honest, that’s what’s at stake here) just because this billionaire shithead wants to put people in indentured servitude on Mars. Like, that’s literally what he has said—if people can’t afford his space travel, they…
Let me start by saying, I love Buffy. It’s a fun, witty, well crafted show that it on my constant rerun comfort watch list.
The Senate should be abolished. There’s no need for it in a modern, mostly functional democracy. It will continually give far too much power to predominantly white rural states. And so long as our educational system remains inept, the Senate will continue to be antithetical to American progress.
Of course they were also crass assholes.
