@Rats: Right? Maybe it's because I live Colorado now, but I didn't see Iraq or Afghanistan at all when I got this J. Crew. This all looks very 4 Corners to me.

@jasrey: This is very true. I think a lot of women give as good - or better - than they get. Violence is wrong and illegal. Period.

@ms negative toils in obscurity: If it's 2 actual whole maki rolls cut into pieces, 300 calories is a bit of a low estimate. But it's way too high for 2 pieces of maki sushi, so...

@Queenjulie: It was amazing when he was on her show last year. They genuinely seem to get along.

@Buggie: Where is that picture from? Is it really Matthew Fox or his doppelganger? I've seen it before, but I don't know its origin.

I do things and talk like my mother all the time. I'm starting to accept it.

@Marbe: I'm trying to think of a way to explain it without totally spoiling it for you... Basically, the second and third books revolve around a conspiracy involving Salander's father, whose race is definitely caucasian. We also get to meet her mother, who is Swedish, so there is over a 95% chance she is white.

I was thinking about this just this morning when I heard the song on the radio. I love it musically, and it really artfully evokes that feeling of being in a toxic relationship. It truly is, as Dodai says, perspective not PSA. However, if I had a teenage who liked this song, you can be sure there would be an

@Marbe: Have you read the second and third books? You'll find that it is absolutely essential to the plot that Lisbeth be at least half caucasian. And it would honestly not make sense for her to be anything other than fully caucasian. Suffice it to say that her lineage is important to the plot of the other 2 books.

The article says both parents have unspecified psychological and physical disabilities. I might be wrong, but it seems like both parents are mentally disabled. They were also both abused as children. This is why we need better social services - so children don't grow up to be parents like these.

@Tchotchke: Oh, yeah, that definitely happened to me, and everything has worked out. When I was 14, I had horrible cystic acne, limp stringy hair, and I weighed about 25 lbs less than the low end of "normal" for my height. I just didn't want to hear it when I was that age. I wanted to be cute RIGHT THEN!

@Tchotchke: God, I remember my dad telling me this exact thing when I was 14. I wanted to punch him so hard.

@LutherNipperkin: But I have no control over "my boyfriend" (quotes because I'm married but going along with the terms used) or how he acts or whether he owes you money. Similarly, he has no control over me or how I act or whether I owe anyone money.

@la.donna.pietra: Haha. Of course - which is why I had never considered the question before.

If you're allergic to cats, are you also allergic to tigers, lions, cheetahs, et al?

@YoungBayardRustin: To be fair, we also know that there are 4 justices who will almost definitely affirm the decision. Each of our Supreme Court justices has a very distinct constitutional philosophy, even Kennedy, the swing vote. However, every once in a while, one will surprise us. Have faith.

@RenoDakota: Meanwhile, most lawyers are pretty appropriate at 26th and Cal. But the observers and defendants are right there with the Daley Center litigants. I loved when a defendant's mom showed up in curlers. You're in court because your son is on trial (for child porn)! What do you have going on later that's more
