So glad you are reviewing this. I love this show for the reasons you stated. It has a certain “cuddliness” to it, which is such a relief to watch after suffering through an episode of Sharp Objects or some such.

Not that it will change your mind: New Orleans and Louisiana are not the same. New Orleans is approximately 60% black, compared to the rest of the state. Also, it specifically states that it was a majority black parish.

The company I used to work at helped Florida purge their voter rolls in the late 1990's.
