I was wondering about that last part. IIRC it just means that any evidence used to convict him can’t be used against him (his estate) in a civil action. But! Being that the burden of proof is lower in a civil vs. criminal trial, would it matter much? Preponderance of evidence vs. beyond a reasonable doubt.
Oh, absolutely. The situation would dictate my decision as well. If I’m traveling back from something work-related, I’m more likely to accept the voucher than if I’m on personal travel.
