I know she testified for him when he sued Vanity Fair. I have never heard that she’s close with him though.

It’s a Cannes thing. The audience acts strongly and openly to films there.

I can see where you’d get confused, because Allen supporters will latch on to any little thing to “prove” that Farrow is, “a crazy vindictive witch who wants to destroy Woody Allen” or whatever, or to justify Allen’s behavior.

I only knew that because Blanchett did an interview where she admitted to naming one of her son’s Roman after Roman Polanski.

The director of this movie, Jeff Nichols, has been on my radar for while. I highly recommend his film Take Shelter.

I see now you think I’m criticizing Mia Farrow for saying she named her kid after Roman Polanski. She didn’t, Cate Blanchett did. My posts about “Her naming her kid after Polanski” were in response to another poster asking about what Blanchett did.

Did you mean to comment to my post, because you responding to the following post of mine about Cate Blanchett:

Usually when actors sign on to do movies they agree to do a certain amount of publicity, like if they’re nominated for an award they have to go to the award show, they have to go on talk shows, attend festivals, etc. Allen’s film opened the Cannes Film Festival and the opening ceremony is a big red carpet event.

Someone mentioned that she is contractually obligated to attended the opening of the Cannes Film Festival in promotion for another movie, and his film opened it this year. I’m guessing that when she signed that contract it hadn’t been announced that a Woody Allen film would be opening it.

Yup, and how much public persona influences these things.

I dated a guy with an MBA from an impressive school that told me that he once worked on a celebrity’s “team.” He was in charge of “branding” of said celebrity and that a good 90% of this person’s persona was completely fake. One of the things he told me they did was pay people for funny anecdotes for the celebrity to

I just posted above that she named one of her children after Roman Polanski. Plus, she worked with Allen.

You know she named one of her kids after Roman Polanski?

I can understand that excuse for the Blake Lively types who aren’t established as film stars, but there are plenty that have no excuse.

Also, if you watch the entire interview, the person interviewing her is asking leading questions and is clearly is trying to get her to say that she’ll vote for Trump, which she never does.

She’s very passionate and outspoken, so odds are you’re gonna disagree with her at times.

You know John Lyon (aka Johnny Rotten) tried to speak out against Savile and the press covering for him? And got banned by the BBC for it.

Yes, it’s so simple and perfect.

As I posted above, by both Allen and Farrow’s accounts, he asked her to marry him, but she turned him down as she had sworn off marriage by that point.
