Glad to see some other long-term EDH supporters. I've been playing since about 96 and have found EDH to be my favorite format, by far. Do you play on Cockatrice, by chance?

Yeah, it's really miserable how poorly designed those sets were, even without the scope of the past decade of NWO redesign of the game. There's equal numbers bad cards and forgettable cards, and almost no cards from post-ABU, pre-Tempest see any play unless they were hugely broken (Bazaar much?)

I consider myself an outlier, in that I play casually but seriously, and I looooove the rules. I play to win but not for money or prizes, or even for social grandeur. I just like playing! And what's the point of playing if not to try to win? (Outside of Pheldagriff, but, that's special…)

EDH is the fucking bomb. Been playing for about three years, and couldn't be happier. It's like the retirement home for serious Magic players. All the kitchen-table, casual, ridiculous power level nonsense you could ever ask for in a format.

Just FYI: they never didn't release multiple expansions a year. Arabian Nights came out the same year as Alpha/Beta, 1993, and Antiquities, Legends, The Dark and Fallen Empires all came out in 1994, same as Unlimited. Set releases and the game in general were just far less ubiquitous back in the day than they are

I have this issue, too; I'd rather play co-op than versus in 99% of situations. My solution was to play Archenemy-esque Magic: a group of people versus the "best" (most advanced) player. (Almost always me.)

I'm the exact opposite and I get shit on all the time from every direction of gaming fandom - I don't care about story or characters, I skip all dialogue and cutscenes that I can, and I just want to experience the engine. Magic is perfect for that: if the font is in italics, it's flavor text, and I can ignore it.

That Kwik-E-Mart is real - d'oh!

Oh my glob I won a shirt that said "HI MY NAME IS GWEN" from her website and it came the day before I saw her live and she saw it and said it was awesome. That's one of my all-time favorite bits.

Nelson did a great job of being just a tiny bit frustrated with the technology but not having it delve into "old man doesn't do the Skypes" kind of crap. Everyone on this show can convey an emotion with a tiny noise or shift in body language - super talented.

As long as it's not Wham! porn.

"If I preface it with a cute nickname he can't possibly be offended by what I'm saying!"

"So, basically, I’m okay with whatever, and you needed to know that at length."

Joke about the letter of Xs in the channel name.

About as long as it takes for them to launch GG8, a channel full of nothing but Axe body spray commercials. (And Shakeweight infomercials after 10PM.)

Blarrested Developblack.

Bloths.

>So that means that FX is no longer 80% commercials interrupted by movies?

FOXX, featuring reruns of In Living Color, The Jamie Foxx Show, and - the best on the list - C-Bear and Jamal.

KRAND-HOLE.
