I was going to say that I couldn't really think of examples of non-party-crazy older women in reality tv. I haven't heard of the two examples you mention. Just in general, lots of reality tv seems to favor Big-Ang-type behavior, though, among older and younger sets of women.

I also grew up in a pretty progressive household, but — like you mention — there were still activities that were strongly gendered. And it was never that my dad walked around thinking that it was my mom's *duty* to be in charge of most domestic stuff, it was just sort of the way things fell into place.
