Something I like about the feeling of the film, at least if I’m able to separate the two actresses from each other correctly, is that this doesn’t feel like a love story within the camp, but that rather the romantic connection is to the girl outside.

Johnson is basically a demo version of Trump. So why did we have to get the version that removed the “quit early” option?

Like many things, the UK tries to copy America and always falls slightly short - just as our skyscrapers scrape less than yours and our burgers are less delicious than America’s - our overweight, overwrought, overpromoted, blond bully just isn’t in the same league as yours.

A lie, you say?

Y’know, everyone always says that, but when you ask “What are you going to do FOR the victim?” there’s a long silence, usually for decades. 

If one of my daughters were to tell me something like this, my first instinct would be to grab the sharpest or heaviest instrument I could find and annihilate the perpetrator.

Per the letter-writer, it’s just the term used in child advocacy circles that means calling the abuse hotline to report the crime.

Some ignore it. They’ve think, “So and so would never do something like that” or chalk it up to an overactive imagination.  Some of these parents were victimized themselves.  It’s brutal. 

Mental health professional here. Thank you for your courage in sharing your story and being brave enough to make an impossibly difficult decision. May your family find healing from this difficult situation.

Damn. My heart goes out to you and your family. I honestly don’t know if there could have been a less heart-rending resolution to all of this.

I’ve worked in law enforcement for 20 years. Sadly, many parents aren’t like you.  For what it is worth, great job. You took action immediately. This isn’t your fault, or hers.  I’m so sorry. 

Alas, he was beaten out by Baldwin, Maine. We’ll see what happens when I revisit my rankings next year.

Edit: Also, Baldwin’s behavior apparently was much worse than I remembered. All I remembered was that he was very public about it in town council meetings, but, yeah, much worse:

Stephen Baldwin crusaded against the opening of an adult store in my home-town, even though he lived miles away in his own mansion (which he lost after he was convicted for failing to pay income taxes, the rich loser). My local news reported she was the daughter of Kim Basinger and “either Stephen or Alec Baldwin.” Then, one of them Googled it and said, “Okay, she’s not the daughter of Kim Basinger but is the daughter of Stephen Baldwin” and they had a good laugh.
