    Did you read them? Both of the books take place in the same exact timeline but from the perspective of different characters. The fifth book does add on more content for all characters at the end but the bulk of those two books is definitely one big book - not based on what GRRM says but from reading them.

    A Feast of Crows and A Dance of Dragons were actually supposed to be one book, it was split into two parts, they both follow different characters, because of how long it became. I agree that by sheer length, they could constitute three seasons…but I also think based on what happens in those books those could be
