Even strangers, actually. I was volunteering at an event with a white guy (who seemed nice enough so I’m not trying to rip on him or anything). He actually got offered a job interview at the event, by a white lady. She was asking him about his career and if he was happy. Didn’t ask anyone else at the booth (all women)…
Wow I never realized that Selena died so young. She was younger than Jennifer Lopez.
I wouldn’t advocate for leaving a stable long term relationship because of political views, to be clear. This is only about relationships that are in the very early stages. Sort of like a pre-screening, if you will. “Do you smoke? Did you vote for Clinton?” That sort of thing.
It didn’t make any sense to me either, but I think he claimed to have voted for Sanders in an attempt to tell me what he thought I wanted to hear (without having to outright lie about voting for Clinton) and when that didn’t work he switched back to his conservative tactics of attack and strawman.
My hypothetical was strictly about the general election, but that’s a good point.
I guess it’s possible not to have voted for Clinton and not be a racist, misogynistic asshole. But it’s not very likely right?
Here’s a fun hypothetical for those of you are not actively dating and for the rest of us a depressing question: Would you date someone who did not vote for Clinton?
I’m fresh out of sympathy. It’s not a great feeling but there it is.
Really for the top opinion on this particular article, Alf’s post was dumb as fuck.
We live in a society that loves to love billionaires. Look at our superheroes. Batman, Iron Man, even the X-men all live together in a mansion in upstate New York. We, as a culture, like to consume stories about wealthy people. I can name you any number of movies, tv shows, or miniseries about royalty, nobility, or…
No I would not, but thanks for asking.
Asking the real questions.
The community rules are very loose. It’s also against the officially posted rules to use racial or homophobic epithets but if they’re in an image the moderators don’t actually remove them. A good chunk of the posts there are just pictures of 4chan threads. So for example someone could tell me to kill myself but then…
There is a way to do that but the comments section is very loose. Like if someone made a comment saying “I think you should go kill yourself” it will be deleted but if they come back and say “imgur’s mods are idiots and you’re the stupidest person alive” that wouldn’t be deleted.
It really makes me angry/sad though. All I wanted to do is look at funny gifs and every other post is “I’m so tired of self censoring around women!” and “I’m the real victim because as a white male society doesn’t care about me!” and they all have 13000 points or similar.
Used to be reddit’s image hosting website. If you ever see those “20 cats who have had enough of your crap” or similar slideshows on MSN or Chive or Buzzfeed they usually come from imgur.
Serious answer: I’ve had to change my skype name because it’s the same as my imgur name. I’ve had skype add requests from these people. They almost got my personal cell phone number and could have doxxed me.
This is off topic but I don’t think if I made a post on the open thread anyone would see.
