New technology making some jobs obsolete isn’t a specific feature of capitalism.

But it will budge? Plenty of countries are social democratic and are increasing the welfare they provide their citizens

So then why are some people acting like the sky is falling and by next month there won’t be a single paid artist anymore?

Are the techies who want to shove AI in all our faces planning to give all the animators they lay off lifetime pensions

Nothing is being stolen. Nothing is being copied. Nothing is being plagiarized.

It is my understanding that the Mining Law of 1872 itself needs to be updated substantially so that as lithium and other mining becomes more and more common, there is a good starting basis where we can both mine the the things we need while accounting for Native rights or environmental issues.

I still don’t understand why the discussion about nuclear is so focused on arguments about cost, when that is only part of the conversation here.

Republicans know their actual policy ideas for things like social programs, healthcare, and taxes are so unpopular that they have to whip up a frenzy about American’s private lives and twist themselves into a pretzel to justify censorship in the name of freedom.

What the fuck are you talking about? Can you not read? Written into the Congressional Review Act is the ability to bypass the filibuster.

The thing that is so god damn aggravating to me about the anti-ESG stance is that investing in fossil fuels over the long term, like a retirement investment account does, is a bad investment, like you point out. I’m positive Earther did an article on this, but I can’t find it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

The idea that courts could reject the expert conclusions of the FDA and what they deem safe, is insane to me.

Very cool

The “centrist wing” of Democrats is Manchin and Sinema, who isn’t even a Democrat anymore.

I guess when you’re a leftist constantly aggrieved at the centrist wing of the party (not unfairly), everything looks like this nail.

I think they’re saying that when the Democrats lose, they blame it on the left flank of the party, insisting they are scaring off moderate voters when, in fact, progressive policies are actually very popular.

Yeah late reply and all, but your comment is completely ironic because it encapsulates everything wrong about the Left.

proving once again that abortion is overwhelmingly popular and that Republicans cannot read the room.
