IW doesn’t really feel like a cliff hanger. It feels like a complete movie... albeit with Thanos as the hero, not the Avengers. We see Thanos go through his complete journey in IW, and the movie reach a satisfying conclusion... for him.

When I was a teenager I “abandoned” many games by virtue of running out of weekend and needing to return the cartridge to the video store. Lots of 90% playthroughs on that list; I’d have to get lucky to rent it again and find the same save unaltered.

The MCU also has the benefit of a home run out of the gate with Iron Man. It’s why I’m always happy to see Happy listed as an Executive Producer on latter movies. Favreau set a wonderful tone.
