Fair point. Still, I hope they do something new with it, whereas these trailers make it feel an awful lot like a rehash of the last one: Designer dino starts killing everyone, dinos that are based on actual species have to save the day.

I think that’s Mangold’s issue, and what I’m getting at as well: let the movie be a stand alone thing. If you want to tease the next movie, that’s what trailers are for. I’m not entirely decided on all of this myself, but Mangold definitely got me rethinking my earlier opinions.

I’m not saying that’s always the case, but there are definitely examples of it, like the Ant Man one, which is essentially a scene from Winter Soldier, or IM2, which is a scene from Thor.

He does speak in this trailer. The whole best pilot in the galaxy malarkey. Sounded pretty spot on.

Wait, they really went with “made up dinosaur” again? There’d better be a good twist to this!

His twitter comments are much more well thought out, and have me rethinking my affection for stingers. The one that always comes to mind is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which was very funny, but also part of that movie.

I really hope this is the case, but it’s such a great cast, and I want this to be a movie that’s not only fun, but also worthwhile.
