Hm, our planes are outdated. The F-35 will lose to the Chinese copies of the F-35 that they downloaded form Lockheed for free.

It's about spending the most money they can, not about what is best for the mission.

Yeah, they should have gone with the f-15 silent eagle. it is stealthy and you could modernize all the radar and weapons.$100 million each which is less than the 35 and they actually work. guess they didn't pay off the right senator.

The Air Force is like any organization: they want more power and more money. The bigger budget you have the more power you have. So that is why they love the F-35. It costs 100 million per plane. No matter that it doesn't really do much for our capabilities.
