My favorite headlights are the ones that don’t blind the shit out of me from an oncoming vehicle

Going with another under Porsche headlight design that wasn’t really liked for a long time, just because it combines pop-ups, tradition and a cool Gif

460 Cubic Inches of V8 with a thirst to match

as a foreigner, I’m having a hard time processing this. whatya mean you’re just now mandating masks, the rest of the world has been doing this forever it seems (I guess I pushed Trump out of my mind).

A pitcher paints a thousand words.

Daddy, what’s a newspaper?

I say all of this mainly in jest since Tesla and Twentieth Century could not be more different in that one was a giant failure and the other just a regular car company now. Elio Motors is probably a better comparison for Twentieth Century, at any rate. It’s almost as if a lot of this stuff is as old as time.

Straightforwardness. Not to be confused with simplicity or lack of gadgets, though adding crap for the sake of adding crap does tend to make a car less straightforward. It has to make absolute sense to me the moment I sit down in it; it has to drive in a manner that works with me instead of fighting me; and I have to

Right now, it’s color. I have an insanely blue car and I love it, even though it’s clearly deficient in many ways. But it’s fun to look at, and for that alone, I love it.

It is.

4th Gear: Hyundai’s concern is understandable. Apple does things Apple’s way and if you cross Apple, they will do their level best to fuck you. Part of the reason I’m skeptical we’ll ever see the Apple Car is Cupertino’s control freaks will never accept not being able to “refine” parts whenever they feel like it.

I figure the Apple Hyundai news leaked because someone saw a patent for a Sonata plastic case.

Yet, I somehow enjoy the irony that Sears couldn’t understand how to sell on the internet, which is basically a digital catalog.

100%. Riding a motorcycle helps a lot with this. I considered myself a good driver and very situationally aware before I learned to ride, but when you take the mindset of “everything around you might kill you”,  it really amplifies awareness, and all of that translates into your mindset when driving a car as well.

Riding a motorcycle changes your entire perspective of driving. I only rode for a year and when I drive now (which is rare these days) I feel like I am hyper aware of people riding lane boundaries, late braking and failing to stop at intersections.

There have been numerous times when my wife is driving and I’ll predict

Taking the MSF course/riding a motorcycle.

Since she’s talking about public roads, definitely not that second thing. If you’re anywhere close to the limit on a public road you screwed up pretty bigly.

Two words:  situational awareness.  I wish more people had it.

I’m really starting to think there is a conspiracy to prevent the teaching of basic financial skills to kids. It’s the only explanation for how so many people live today.
