I’ve never seen (or noticed) one of those. However, I am glad to see the trend of various colors of ribbon sticker for various causes seems to have passed. I’m fine with being considered insensitive, those are just ugly and annoying and I’m sure the people who use them to signal their virtue are probably annoying too.

Even before that the Escort had a long run. It even turned into a decent car once they had Mazda help with the platform.

I had a friend skid into a barrier and pushed the engine all the way into the passenger seat. Somehow he walked away fine. Good thing there was no passenger.

The seller is asking $7,500 for the car, or about half-again what it cost when new.

Fuck it. I can’t find where this is listed. Canada is mentioned. If it’s near me I’m going to take a look. Anybody have a link?

I’m on my fourth VW and friends and family roll their eyes at me and I bitch when nasty expensive things happen, but nothing has really been that catastrophic. All cars cost money and maintenance, just in different ways. I’ve had plenty of other cars going back to the early 80's. There was always something.

Thanks. I seem to recall the GL/DL but not which she had. Probably a trim level thing. I also don’t recall displacement, but it was plenty for a runabout of that size. It was FWD not AWD, so it was super simple. Actually, it was a very good car for it’s era and she has only bought Subarus ever since, with the

Touching that steering wheel might be the most difficult part. People restore far worse specimens. Maybe those specimens are seen to be a better investment, understood, but this is a nice looking car I’d be happy to pull out and drive on a sunny day if I could get it sorted for a reasonable budget. It’s not investment

Why does it look like a vent?

People? This is a car blog, why are you discussing meat bags? /s

I’m imagining the underside is what you mean by most angles.

With a good thick coating of pedestrian (applied regularly) it should be fine.

An ugly car?

Some people will always believe the earth is flat.

To be fair, I feel I need a car that isn’t butt ugly, has a nice interior, drives well and is practically sized enough that I put up with VW B.S. I guess we choose our compromises...

Yeah, I’d be curious to understand more about how my mom’s 1982 Leone (branded differently in Canada, but I don’t recall the branding) managed to run on three cylinders without her even noticing. We’re guessing it was a couple months. She just said it felt like the power was down, but these things didn’t have all that

Finally the Trinity is complete. Stupid vehicle, stupid buyers and now stupid price.

The irony is this is closer to the original Corvette program/spirit than anything Chevy has offered in, say, 50 years.

Is that a range anxiety joke?

Having Dong in the name is just so apt. Apt I tell you!
