Thank you for this insightful response. I think the key area where we disagree is something you touched on. I see games as a product and not a service.
Since you're so successful, I am baffled by your complete lack of understanding my perspective despite my making it crystal clear. I am happy to pay full price for games. I often go out of my way to buy a new copy, in fact, just to support devs on principle. I loathe shops like GameStop and GAME, but whatever. If…
Talking to you is like ramming my face into a wall. I hope you're less bitter, and more successful, in real life.
You are way too angry and harsh. The person already said they have a job. Just try to chill out a bit.
Grow a brain and re-read what I just said. I was attempting to illustrate how this is more than just about used games, which I rarely—if ever—buy. If games are tied to one console, it fucks everyone.
I don't think GameStop's loss would make much of a difference to the industry. The major European equivalent, aka GAME, just tanked this year and people are still getting their games. At least in the US there are readily available alternatives.
I don't know anyone who shops there anymore tbh. Amazon murders them on pricing.
Lulz. Too true.
I was just saying the same thing to my wife. It's freaking ridiculous. I've never been an advocate of piracy, but if these companies are going to keep devaluing my purchases and giving me the finger then pretty soon I'm going to give it right back.
This bothers me too, but I'm so much more concerned about having limitations placed on my stuff after the point of sale.
Oh wow. Thanks for this. I'd never heard of a license agreement before. Do try not to hurt your back while you're bending over.
Okay, look at it this way. I am a collector and a hobbyist. I love games. I have shelves full of them—games that I own because I paid for them. If I want to play something, I pull it off the shelf and put it in a console that I paid for and I own. And you know, there's a good chance that I've owned more than one of…

Yeah but good luck accessing your collection in the future when you own another console and/or the service is defunct.
Nice! Let me know if you hear back. I'd be interested to know if this is indeed the same tech that powered Ghostbusters.
Which is why I made my first comment. I wouldn't compare Borderlands, Crysis or Bioshock to CoD. This game -looks- like CoD, but the gameplay is obviously different. It looks slow and dull.
So we are assuming that they are using Infernal because its their in-house engine?
