It's uncomfortable to read the review when the reviewer assumes that their reductive, cynical idea of 'table setting' is shared. All good books and films and shows etc have scenes that bring the action, or subtext or themes together, it's a basic element of criticism too … but to call all other kinds of story 'place

Was this episode the first full confirmation of exactly why the show is called 'Orphan'? I mean, not that they are parentless in the regular sense but that the project was 'orphaned' when the genome sequences were lost, as I think Leekie said?

The J-pop and K-pop that is getting talked about here, and that is often talked about in media as if it represents all music in that country, is the equivalent of idol-pop and manufactured boy / girl groups. It is shallow and commerce driven. That said, if you are aware of the scene diversity and are specifically

Keep in mind that Japan, where I have lived and been to shows etc, has an extensive music scene that includes, for example, loads of great garage / punk / surf bands like The Fevers, Guitar Wolf, The Whys and so on. It also has amazing collectives such as Acid Mother Temple. There are loads of great bands and artists

Don't underplay the reveal that Waller is actually a major part of Oliver's backstory, that was as a big twist as anything else in the ep. Overall, the show is set up really well for season 3 to be just as good. And the opening montage of the Slade/Ollie story moments made realise how it's been really good in all

Yeah.

The show was a pretty extreme example of odd network / mainstream cinema priorities … this is a show / time / network where we get someone's rib graphically ripped out, held and then used to bash his head in, but for god's sake don't use a naughty word or show a human naked!!!!

The rehab is called New Path. I'm sure there's another comment below spotting this, that I can't be bothered to read through to.

Great show by a skilled comic with a coherent voice.

The Hitler Youth look line was defo the best crack in the series so far.

Twice! Now Ollie had to do the no real fault of his own Sophie's choice twice. Harsh and also 100% commit from the show runners.

Ward was the first proper shock moment yeah, but cutting to the Hydra logo at the end was the coolest moment of the show so far.

I really liked the tiny moment of subversion when Huntress saw her father was dead: "No … … … it should have be me" (that killed him.) This ep had loads of great moments like that, in between enough good action for a movie.

Surely it is now obvious that there's no way any kind of final book will be done and released by the time the show catches up. Storm of Swords is amazing and two seasons of it will still not capture all of it … but after that it's all paring down time. I think that's the subtext of the meeting, isn't it?

So you have no problem with the two movies?

Real Sparta - eugenics (infanticide) practicing, slave-holding military state who crushed that pesky 'democracy' when they smacked down Athens in the very next war.

The first one was just as bad, Frank Miller's white-washed ancient Greece and his wingnut fantasy version of the world.

Incredibly, some of the great action in the show even goes above 'great for this budget' or 'great for TV.' There was a shot a couple of episodes back, where Arrow and Black Canary chased down a van on a motorbike, they sped past it and took out its windows with the sonic Canary Cry. That shot was right out of any

It was not funny, and why can't I dislike racism? Also, you say 'we' … are you offended too? Am I not the only one or something? maybe you could try explaining yourself again, maybe I didn't get it. It seems like you are ordering me to find certain things funny, when I don't, or something like that?

Love Ramis. Let's chalk up the "primitive culture" lingering, horrific racist joke in the middle of Animal House to Landis. And Tom Hulse, he said it.
