Thanks for the detailed reply and insight. I still am repulsed by pretty much all his views. But I appreciate the reply for sure.

Ferguson is little more than a pantomime villain with an equally cartoon view of the world. Isn't he employed by Harvard? What a joke.

? Err, does that mean you do or don't think the Ben example is better than the Miller's Crossing example?
I caught a couple of comments now seeming to imply that failing to have the balls to kill someone, then it comes back to get you leads to Lost as a definitive example. For shame, for shame. Millers Crossing surely comes before that ridiculous, made up as it went along TV show.
Once. Language is quite varied and most native-speaking non-pedants can pick up meaning easily.
Andy Garcia trach hole smoking scene. Real horror scene.
The scene in the original Clash of the Titans where he fights Medusa is so good.
Someone who is violent to women and then gets up in public and sings about 'the ladyzzzz' is going to need a long time for people to warm to them. And yes, cue discussions about numerous artists, musicians and sportsmen who seem to get passes.
Carsick Cars are a great band. They are on Maybe Mars in Beijing and their shows are amazing. I've seen them a couple of times in Shanghai. The frontman/songwriter Shou Wang is a real talent. Good times.
Brett is my favorite minor character of the whole show, every line by him or about him kills me. Like when he describes Jerry's apartment as un-Carl Farbman-like. He's Douche-tastic - and he dies!
And when an overall loser is determined, they are hanged and their body is pecked apart by gulls, falls into the sea and is eaten by the fishes under the twilight at the end of the day.
Sorry if this is already in the comments but:
Zack, this review is clearly negative, feverishly so. The grade you give it should represent some position south of the middle point.
Taren Killam is the best thing on the show right now. He nailed the J-pop skit, but he's really really good in more naturalistic stuff, like the Moneyball skit last week. His strength is not having the very thing that would give him a break through - a recognizable persona.
Killam is pretty good and keeps it a bit more understated than the others. He was great this week in the Moneyball skit, especially when his daughter asked him at the breakfast table how he pulled it off and he just says "cheating"
I'm a Brit who grew up with The Doctor and still like the show. But, when I read the various reviews that have come up as a result of the new gen shows taking off in the USA it makes me wonder …
Why not? Explain. What do you think of Parks' performance?
I'm sure the release date format/Smith grudge will mean it's not covered but, and wait for the full explanation, Red State is shooting for Oscar this year.
Sure. I think the role is more insightful companion than gatekeeper though. We can all get to the the culture quickly and easily. It's a change, an evolution. If you read Smith's statements on the Red State process, the core principles make sense. And they fit the way the industry has been changing.
