you'll need to pre-order that, it's a hot commodity

i was excited but I always remember that the games never play as well as they look, Im waiting to borrow this one at my library since I cant expect this to ever fall in price.

I think brand awareness is an important factor for consumers, particularly the ones that don't usually buy consoles. Nintendo now has a certain image attached to it and by not naming it something other than Wii, people may think it's just an incremental upgrade. I wouldn't say their stock with jump up like it did

I don't know if that mass market appeal doesn't begin with that niche market. I think they can definitely grow beyond the hardcore gamer market that is often so critical but I doubt many series can launch and be successful in the long run without them. CoD is a perfect example, from it's humble origins the game was a

the stock has steadily been dropping since the wii peaked, usually when that happens all the analysts like to go crazy and say the company is doomed to fail. The only thing is that the same thing happened to Sega...

or I see it as the game not offering enough to appeal to a wider audience, they perfectly pick up on the fact that the game is meant for people who like kirby but another person who enjoys more robust and challenging platformers will be sorely disappointed.

why does this devolve into this game or generic shooter, there's about another dozen genres that have games coming out that kick this games ass in terms of quality AND quantity

been watching a couple streams of people playing this, seems like the audience are just people who love kirby and young children. There's nothing new or interesting about this kirby game that hasn't been done (and better) in say Kirby Super Star. It's just a mediocre platformer that's meant as fan service to Nintendo

fallout 3 was made on the same engine as oblivion, should that make fallout 3 half price? I don't follow your logic. The game wasn't made with mod tools unfortunately or else it would be a hell of a lot easier for modders to make more content themselves.

this isn't the bliz of old, this is the new bliz partnered with activision, the one who's stock matters. It will not be priced like an expansion, I guarantee that. It may not go for $60 but it will not be lower than $40-$50. They are legitimizing that with the 25-30 or so missions for zerg and "multiplayer" addons

seeing what you get for $10 in New Vegas for example, $15 is way way too much for something like this.

I just realized that there has been 3 games between MW 1 and MW3 and I haven't tried any of them substantially beyond some 15 min play throughs, I still feel like MW isn't that old to be basically 4 games ago.

you would think that but then you should also think that making a new engine actually takes time, as in years worth of work and if they want to annualize a series then making a new engine is cost prohibitive, it's just that they can get away with it because of the rabid people that eat CoD up

correct but the prices tend to be lower overall so the value of buying new is higher than it is on consoles, you could pick up bad company 2 months ago for $7 on steam. 7! It's a lot easier for PC gamers in that regard to buy new.

and what if everyone adopts this line of logic? Then game prices plummet and the industry goes into a tale spin. Look at many of the less successful games, their prices drop so fast in order for some money to be made rather than none. Waiting to buy isn't a bad thing but neither should buying used be.

you are a lost person, if you equate used sales with piracy you need to step away from the internet for a minute and rethink your logic

this, I would expect access with a online pass should come with dedicated server support but it doesn't and it won't. I can't comprehend how any of this benefits the user in any way.

but Gamestop is not really perceived as being part of the gaming industry, those profits they keep are not shared among publishers or developers. It's the stock holders and executives that benefit from that profit. I don't disagree with your logic on used games giving gamer more money to use for other products but I

The right to access that service? Ok Im going to call baloney on that, I would understand that if you got the game free then yea maybe paying for access to server warrants a price but when you pay for the game new, that copy has now paid for online access from day 1 until the day the servers are shut down. Having that

They still haven't changed the engine on CoD have they? That is one cost effective engine if I do say so myself. Last CoD game I bought was MW on PC and this looks just like it.
