Oh and this two bookends.

What I want to know is not how many calls per hundred the iPhone4 drops over previous iPhones but how many calls per thousand or per ten thousand. 100 seems very a very odd metric to display when the delta that is reported as <1. I call Statistical Bullshit.

@tundraboy: I lol'd at your comment. Sure the magnitude of the transgressions are different but I think that maybe the fault lies in the existing corporate capitalist system.

@frigg: when two opposing reality distortion fields collide does the truth come out?

@Gary_7vn: I once worked for a company that told me the rules around the Made in the USA tag allowed them to do most production overseas and do final assembly in the US. and the small about of assembly in the US in labor cost was greater that that overseas by several orders of magnitude even when factoring in shipping.

@pctiger: since when should journalistic integrity involve establishing relationships with the subjects of your reports? Is this Fox News or something?

@technomom1: Job's biggest mistake during this conference is trying to direct some of the blame to other cellphone manufacturers.

@Gary_7vn: it's not that it's the first problem Apple has had. It's the first problem that has built enough mass to rupture the reality distortion field around most Apple fans.

Financial Analysts do this all the time. Some one posted a chart some time back showing the accuracy of various analysts, columnists and bloggers and Those bloggers closest to Apple were more accurate on iPhone and iPad feature months in advance. Financial Analysts were always out on the fringe.

Q4 2008 had Apple's largest number of iPhone sales. A staggering number of iPhones were purchased. With carriers like AT&T providing a 6month early upgrade it brought all those people locked in 2 year contracts forward to the iPhone4 release. Its not that surprising really.

@ZFK: The problem is that tempering makes the glass scratch resistant, but it puts the glass under a lot of tension.

@zuberio: Wow that might sell like hotcakes. Cracked glass skins for your iPhone4. lol

this could have been better. Put Android on it. Add cellular and front and read facing camera. You could do true video conferencing on 1 screen and shared whiteboard meeting notes on the left. That would be a true collaboration device.

@Dodge2002: not really. depends on the classification of the laser light. If its low enough you can beam it on to a retina all day long with no more damage that it gets from receiving visible light rays.

@lizon: except T-Mobile, oh and Sprint WIMAX. So just 2 networks I guess.
