It's a fairly vicious stereotype that gets a lot different things slung at it from time to time.

Horn sections don't normally add soprano saxophones until after there's a few saxophones, a trumpet, and a trombone.

He's just trying to be cool. He probably prefers some Canadian Prime Minister that no one has ever heard of.

Wow, who ever heard of the host of a comedy podcast making dumb jokes about well known artists just to be provocative.

I haven't head the song since the 90s and my first reaction was wouldn't it be violin and a high pitched reed instrument.

I don't get where he's acting super cool, or even acting like he doesn't like mainstream music. The only close to non-mainstream band he listed was The Grateful Dead and that's more because they're ubiquitous everywhere but commercial radio.

Wait? You're inserting yourself as having uber music knowledge and you don't think lyrics are important in pop music?

Shitting on Eric Clapton is very old thing.

It's the lack of horn section that bothers me.

OMG I never realized how irritating Dave Matthews is when he pronounces things. How much of that is born out of the fact that he has to make stupid anguished faces so he can look artistic.

I think it was M.I.A. that was accused of cultural appropriation when she put a particular dancer in one of her videos. It's… like.. um… wait… she's not appropriating.. she's just giving the person a platform.

Yah, using a gospel choir that's a real gospel choir as a gospel choir is not culturally appropriating gospel choir, it's using a gospel choir. You have to at least make allowances for members of that culture to represent themselves. Or are we going to stand on our high horses and tell gospel choirs what they can and

Wait? Walmart's bring gentrification? It's usually trendy night clubs, restaurant, and artists hangouts that bring the gentrification. The original neighbourhood residents don't get pushed out because they're making less money, they get pushed out because young professionals moving in are pushing the rent up.

A quick scan of the lyrics suggests that it's the type of pop song that can be given a completely different life if done correctly. Especially since the originally has all the baggage of being an over the top hit sung by children.

Forgot how big the first movie was. I remember the first one being more of a simple, and charming coming of age film that was unintentionally good. It felt more like a break-through foreign film than anything that would come out of Hollywood. No surprise the sequel would fall flat because the first movie easily

My memory of Rochester is opening up the local indie rag to find the biggest event that had going that summer was a Sublime cover band.

C'mon everybody knows it's the girl, the kid, and the babysitter.

Eventually you'll find a dorky guy on Youtube explaining why the chorus in "Mmmbop" is a good example of song craft. That is why one Hanson song can be a hit, and the other 8 cannot. In more interesting times why Willie Nelson need Patsy Cline to go to bat for his syncopation on the song Crazy.

As a heterosexual male I feel like I'm in a completely different boat. I've never sent a message that simply says hi, I've always been careful about my spelling and grammar, and every message I write is inspired by the profile I read. I get nothing. but crickets.

I doubt it. The problem for Gawker is they'll never be able to prove the sex tape 'reporting' is journalism for the simple fact that never asked the people involved any questions. They're after the fact justifications for releasing it are as flimsy as they are after the fact.
