It's the general obnoxiousness of believing you're having a political awakening while you still haven't realized that basically everything you've ever had has been handed to you by your parents, that your parents are everything you're raging against, and that all you're really going to do about it is identify with the

You don realize that most of the indie labels you hear about on the Internet today were around in the 80s and 90s, right? That anyone who put a tiny bit of effort into reading a magazine or stayed up late to watch music videos knew about bands that weren't promoted by major labels, right? It's just a bunch of BS that

Rage Against the Machine is just a bunch of cute phrases and sloganeering with swears attached.

No, cause in 1991 you had after hours video shows, college radio, and fanzines to hang on to. There was so much going on the late 80s and early 90s it's kind of ridiculous to credit any one band for breaking the mold. It's ridiculous enough to credit Nirvana when you consider that fact that Shoegaze, Industrial, and

I always thought RATM's only useful contribution was the Freedom video. Which was actually the product of Peter Christopherson.

You really need an album that you can enjoy equally as much while concentrating on work, engaging fully with your headphones on, or rockin' out while playing air guitar.

Exactly. The reason I remember moves like Aliens, Terminator, and Shocker so well is because they were the first adult movies I watched with friends while hiding away from parents.

My worst experience was a un mic'd free concert where two women sat in the front row, right in front of the performers, and then proceeded to talk through the entire concert. The most entertaining part was the savage lecture an audience member from the other side of the church unleashed on them after teh show.

I really don't understand people who expose their young children to violent/scary movies. How do they feel this is necessary or unavoidable? It's actually so bad that I'm called over protected because I haven't watched Aliens with my 10 year-old. OMFG, I don't have time to watch Aliens with my kid, I'm too busy

Whenever I hear the name Hoobastank I remember how I thought Meatloaf was something they made up for Married With Children.

I went to basement show a few weeks ago and had a fairly decent view of the band. Then some hipster stands in front of me, immediately starts staring at his phone, stood their for about 10 minutes not moving at all, then left.

My personal hell would be seeing an incredibly danceable live band and constantly having people step into my personal space and just stand there. These are the rare moments when I want to just elbow someone in the face. This has happened to me in places where it's not even crowded.

No, there are just times when there is such a high level level of excitement for something that you expect to feel a bit of it yourself.

Don't forget the emotional hard-core "I'm really feelings these words" singing during the chorus and the slick production.

Charts? Who cares about charts?

It's all about transactional exclusivity.

For that kind of money you could get Richard James to perform under everyone one of his aliases.

Me: You know I listened to "Selected Ambient Works"
friend: What did you think?
Me: sounded more 80s than I expected…..
friend: Sounds incredibly dated doesn't it…
Me: yes…

Sheezer has always been a good Weezer cover band.

Well you know, creative expression is what people would really want in their pop culture, if they didn't find it so appalling.
