Does chicken-tax apply?

Correct, the 5 and 6 cylinder models stay around for the AWD versions on the S/V/XC60 because of some platform engineering problem. While the two 4 cylinders, making 240 or 300hp, are for the FWD T5 and T6 trims. Volvo is making the T5 or T6 a trim line instead of a denotation of actual engine choice.

Something must be said about all these nannies, though: When my driving partner and I had the opportunity to drive the S60 sedan (a fine choice, by the way) all of them were turned on and it was difficult scrolling through menus to turn them off. There are buttons for some right on the center console, but some turned

For the first time on both sides of the Atlantic, the V60 gets paddle shifters. There isn't anything else behind the wheel so you won't get confused; there are radio and volume controls on the front of the wheel. Both models get a softer-touch steering wheel that's still heavy and firm underneath. (A heated steering

Have an XC70, wish this was bigger. It just looks so nicely designed but oddly sunken...

The V60 loses points because it's a little busy around the C-pillar and because of the new Volvo grille, which frankly looks dated. Chevrolet Venture, anyone?

Very true, but it's not ugly. Which sadly, has become a merit we give to cars. And yet, whenever I see one on the road it feels special, like seeing a Quattroporte or Aston.

No. NO. NOOOO!

Feels like they wanted a great CoD, aka: Model S, but then they were like... "Oh shit, we can't copy them so how about this?" And there was enough chrome on it that the Execs. were like... "mmm... looks luxury AND it gets the MPGs? Good. Approved!"

Top Gear returns tonight on the BBC if you're in England (or daring with the internet), or on Monday, February 10 on BBC America for those of you that like to do things the old fashioned way.

This little lip is the nicest part.

Some of that HUGE price comes from setting up a whole new BMW owned Carbon Fiber supply chain. They have a factory in Moses Lake, WA turning out the stuff for both the i3 & i8.

Speeding ticket in, 3...2...1...

I came here to say this too. I think it's the Chinese tax setup that forces the 2-liter or larger import tax. So a 1.99L would definitely make sense for the export market. I mean, it's not as if they can't boost it more when the 320i isn't even doing 100hp/L.

"Heh, Heh, what a moron this guy is..."

Why not just use the internal designations. . . E30, F10, E92.

Wouldn't that have to be a 1-series? Which they can't allow because of M1 naming issues?
