Screw Batman, WB/Discover is in on one superhero and actor only and that is Ezra Miller!!! Because the Flash is SO GOOD(And not because a giant train wreck of a person is great publicity or anything).

So what you’re saying is, we should totally give him shit 24/7 and see what happens, right?
Over the last two weeks—and framed as part of Zaslav’s efforts to cut $3 billion out of HBO Max’s operating budget before it merges with Discovery+—the service has slashed almost 40 shows from its streaming roster.
Yeah, Zaslav is used to killing stuff the general public doesn’t specifically give a shit about. You hear a whole lot of “man, TLC used to be good” but never any specific programming.
Zaslav knows how to turn educational on-in-the-background TV into hyper-profitable trashy on-in-the-background TV, but it seems increasingly clear he doesn’t know how to handle projects and IPs that people actively care about and engage with.
They may have cancelled Batgirl, but at least they’re fully committal on any Batman project. Let me just take a big sip of coffee and read this article about the new Batman animated series!
I definitely understand why you didn’t put it in the article but the creator of canceled (but formerly on Max) Cartoon Network show Uncle Grandpa put up single-handedly the darkest reaction image to all this (imo it’s hilarious but it is VERY dark so content warning I guess) (I’d have put it in a hyperlink but this…
No, that doesn’t normally happen in the fields of print or visual media. You’re upfront pay is paltry compared to residuals. That’s how these creators actually survive month to month. Zazlov saying, fuck ya’ll, is hugely different than the norm, hence the blowback, from creators, from shareholders, and the resultant…
jesus, I thought the way Disney treated Alex Hirsch and Dana Terrace was bad, but this shit is unbelievable. if we had an industry wide reckoning on the way animators and VFX artists are treated today, it’d still be about 20 years too late
They canceled the Bruce Timm/Matt Reeves animated Batman series, those goddamn motherfuckers
More cartoons cancelled:
It sounds like most creatives found out the same time (or damn near) as the rest of us.
And now the direct-to-streaming animated feature Driftwood has been canceled, which is completely unsurprising considering that it was just announced three months ago, but the one piece of promo art I’ve seen for it so far was captivating.
I saw a thing on Twitter where somebody who used to work at Discovery said this isn’t unusual for Zaslav, but he never got much blowback because the people watching those reality shows don’t talk much about them on social media. Except animation, particularly from a storied studio as Warner Bros and a channel like…
Fuck these people. Infinity Train is a modern day classic. This doesn't take into account the adult swim shit that was dropped.
I was waiting for Gene to go into the security office the day of the crime, only to find out the security guy had a heart attack from all the sugar
It is definitely weekly. Jerry and Gene are always talking about Nebraska football and college football is played once a week on Saturdays. Plus Gene is shown training Jeff to quickly navigate to twenty different sections of a store - that is something that isn’t going to happen in the course of a week either.
It would be 2010. Nebraska lost to an unranked Texas early that year, and Brandon Weeden is mentioned.
Correction: more research indicates that the episode is actually set in 2010. I’m not a college football fan and assumed the Brandon Weeden thumb reference was from when he was a pro in 2013.
Gene must have bought Biff Tannen’s sports almanac.
