The whole movie has a wonderfully goofy tone and Hugo Weaving singlehandedly works his ass off to help make that a fun movie. Plus it gave us Peggy! The ridiculously fun goofy tone encases that entite film and makes it criminally underrated.

Yes. Much, much better than Infinity War. The second half, yes, has a bunch of relatively generic action. But:

Agreed that third act drops off, but the ending is a gut punch. Despite flaws First Avenger told a simple focused story that paid off with a great character arc. Whereas IW was a bunch of scenes of differing quality.

Nothing against the writers, but I hate ranked lists, because I feel like they have continually reference the movie’s placement in the ranking as they are writing about it, and punch up the praise or critique accordingly.

I get it - this is for clicks in the lead-up to the movie, not really for readers.
