One of the MoviePass rules is that you can’t use it on the same movie twice. I think what has been happening is people are checking in for one movie and then buying the ticket for a different movie. This reduces the quality of their precious data (the real income source). If they have data showing 100 people checked

Possibly guarding against the people that sign up for a certain movie, but buy tickets to another? Their operation is such a mystery...

Interesting, I signed up last month and have seen 6 movies so far. Have not been asked for a ticket stub (yet).

I’m starting to think this Kushner kid is a bit of an asshole

Amateur.

Really, truly, seriously, go with your gut. Voice of experience here. I said yes to one guy I wasn’t 100% sure about, and it ended up in gaslighting, him loosening the screws on my chairs so they’d fall apart when I sat down, him putting stuff in my leftovers, and ultimately in him trying to throw me down a flight of

I would have HATED going home every day knowing Id feel that dread in the pit of my stomach

Good on you. As the ladies say, “Fuck politeness, stay sexy, and don’t get murdered.”

I did that sorta. I made a friend on xbox live in like 06/07. Became pretty good friends with him and he ended up moving out to CA from VA to be my roommate. This was 6 or so years later so at this point we knew each other pretty well. We had some good times together but the last month or so was terrible. We stopped

The reason I was able to sublet the room that I did between my junior and senior year of college was because the guy my roommates were thinking of giving it to before me ended up creeping them out. You could think of it as opening a room up for a not creepy person?

this is gonna be perfect!

SAME. wanna be roommates?

One summer in college my two roomates left town for internships and lined up sublets. Only problem was, I was staying in town that summer and I had ZERO say in approving the subletters. One was an extremely cool guy who I am still friends with (we ended up living together in a different apartment after graduation) but

I feel ya, I’m about to start that process myself again. I had this happen once, nothing super bad, a guy with terrible credit (I own my place) who said he was from a child support issue that had been worked out. He seemed like a good guy who had a shitty start, and I wanted to be sympathetic. Well, a few months in,

They gave him three girls names. Highschool couldn’t have been easy

He may have been a decent dude, but it seems like he might have been a bad roommate, if he wasn’t being communicative with you even before you cancelled. Bullet dodged any way you look at it. I can’t imagine dreading going back to my own home. Happy for you!

Why on earth they do not show the answer on-screen (after it’s been answered) is beyond me.

You had the heebie jeebies for a reason. Glad you trusted your instincts!

I think that examples like Ex Machina and the current Westworld argue primarily that a true AI would deserve moral consideration that we generally do not give to machines. After all, if we develop a truly conscious AI, and then immediately use it to do our labor, it is only a matter of time before it justifiably

Joel realized he had an article due today and didn’t have a goddamn thing to write about.
