Precheck is amazing. The sheer fact you don’t have to take off your shoes, jacket, or remove your laptop (kindle for me) from you bag makes it worth it. Also I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes in a security line. 

I’ve never been able to sleep on a plane either. However, on my last flight I fully passed out on the return trip for the first time ever. Turns out the key for me is complete sleep deprivation for my entire trip until the plane home.
