There were a few stories but the school effectively kept the press out. That's part of why you pay the big bucks for private school. They did a great job of protecting the girls.

I see it kind of like boxing used to be. The potential for really damaging yourself is so high and the odds of ever making a decent living at it are so low that it only really appeals to people who don’t have a lot of other options for social mobility. It isn’t really suprising that people who come from messed up

Why are people who make a career out of something most people desperately try to avoid, physical combat, so aggressive?

Repeated blows to the head. Substance abuse. Abusive relationships. Emotional issues. et cetera.

Whenever I’m picking up soap or deodorant for Mr Tots, I just get the one with the dumbest name. He’s currently using a body soap that’s “Swaggy” scented.

My sons all use Axe and the names on their body wash and shampoo are straight-up nuts. It’s like a collection of XBox Live usernames.

I just have my wife hose me down in the backyard once a week, so this has not been an issue.

They make suicide more dangerous. Suicidal people are more likely to try and go through with it if there is a gun in the house.

Because if it’s truly walkable it’s the perfect place for someone with health problems. There’s a store next door. The library is across the street. The park is next to that. If you struggle to walk next door, you’re not going to be driving either – or shouldn’t be.

Actually, my husband and I are fixated on walkability, having had to take car keys away from all 4 of our parents. At least where we live, you can still walk to get a cup of coffee, pick out groceries, etc.—and moving around is good for you!

yeah, 4 of the top 8 are DC suburbs. They would be TERRIBLE places to retire. Cost of living is very high, traffic is insane. Does a 75 yr old person want to deal with traffic, fighting for a parking spot, and waiting 30 minutes for a table? No, they want to stroll into applebees and get seated immediately.

I’m guessing they’re weighting all categories somewhat equally, which is a big mistake.
