There are people who believe their religion allows/requires them to beat their children. Google up some results for the book “To train up a child” by Michael and Debbie Pearl. Don’t read a site where they’re selling the book. Read at a site where they expose the evil beliefs these people claim are based on the bible.

So confused about Judaism right now. I currently work in a large university department of Ob/Gyn. We have a student who said he was orthodox and asked to be able to leave on Fridays in order to be home by sundown. I even looked up sundown times for my boss who was responsible for the details of the decision.

Yes I have one below whining at my comment.

Encouraging!

The thing is, the women identify with being bumped by the male shark. If that wasn’t happening ALL THE TIME there would be no discussion of it here. So maybe there is a chance fo rsome introspection. Why has this incident of a female shark being fed up with being bumped, resonated with so many people? Maybe it’s some

When my daughter was a premature infant, she had to wear a monitor for her heart and for apnea - not only sleep apnea but an actual under-developed breathing reflex. When she was 4 weeks old I flew to show her off to family living on the other side of the country for my last 2 weeks of maternity leave. You know how

I bet your walk’s similar to the skill a server learns in a crowded restaurants - you just look for the spaces to move into, don’t even see the crowds as people. Just obstacles.

That feeling doesn’t get any better as the days click by and her first summer possibly working in the field get closer (I mentioned above, mom of a college freshman in biology). Ah well I guess college campuses aren’t much safer :( although from what I hear all her dorm-mates sound lovely.

What is that causes so many males to be unable to see their co-workers if she becomes pregnant? Is it some unknown pheromone we unconsciously emit when gestating?

Thank you for being there for the ladies of the lab. I just wish dudes like the PI didn’t need to be chaperoned in order to control himself.

This is probably a spell check kind of thing, but scientists work at field sites, not sights (paragraph 6, the online survey).

Although posthumous nominations are not presently permitted, individuals who died in the months between their nomination and the decision of the prize committee were originally eligible to receive the prize. - from the Wikipedia entry on Nobel Prizes.

I haven’t watched it since the move to Hulu, or maybe a little before that but I did enjoy it. But how realistic is it that an Ob/Gyn, whose entire livelihood and daily life revolves around reproduction, accidentally gets pregnant? I know it’s fiction but there needs to be some semblence of existing in our world or it

I came her to say the same thing. I’m no expert on ancient Hebrew dress but the illustrations in the children’s Bible I had as a kid, and most of the paintings I see, have everyone of all ages and genders in, for lack of a better word, a tunic dress or a toga. (except Adam and Eve, who hid behind bushes I think) So I

Back when landlubbers were burning women who had cats and even burning cats, sailors were avoiding the plague by bringing cats on ships to control rat populations. In fact, pet cats didn’t walk from Egypt (where genetic studies show they originated) to the rest of the world; they traveled on ships - since planes and

I hate to be the Pinkham’s Law person, but there is an illness called diverticulitis which causes a person to have intestinal distress if they eat anything with seeds, nuts, and similar items. I don’t remember the details although long ago I knew someone who had it. I think small ulcers form around the prohibited

Is there a large biology resource that this is part of? Links, place to buy etc would be appreciated!

I lived in the Witchita Mountains, a part of Oklahoma that is fairly close to Texas (Fort Sill is near by) and had nearly every variety of poisonous thing that lives in the US. Water moccasins, rattlesnakes and copperheads, tarantualas (not poisonous, just enjoy giving people who are not even afraid of insects, per

Exactly, dad may have doubted that she was better, but wanted to look cooperative in front of the judge to get at least some visitation. If he had disputed what the judge said, might have come off looking like dad was the problem.
