I paid a $200 co-pay my insurance paid $17K and I’m guessing the balance is credited or written off by the hospital. Even though it was billed at $30K my insurance has negotiated with the hospital group for lower rates. It’s why the prices listed are not really the prices. When you look at my explanation of benefits

The vast majority of people are not actually paying those amounts and I’m guess the super high costs were cherry picked because they are so high. I have good insurance so I paid $230 ($200 hospital co pay,$10 initial OBGYN copay and $20 specialist copay) out of pocket for my pregnancy. My experience is probably not

My OBGYN kept submitting my ultrasounds with the incorrect coding so my insurance saw them as infertility treatments not prenatal care. Each time and they did it 4 times ( I was high risk and had a lot) it was tons of calls to the billing dept and the insurance to get it resolved. And the the receptionist would call

I pulled the list for the hospital I had my baby in and the numbers were much much lower and closer to what you would expect. I know my uncomplicated C section and 4 day hospital stay was billed at about 30K and my insurance paid about 17K. What I did think was funny was that almost everything was lumped into about 4

We did the same - it was super rare for someone who didn’t live on our street to drive down it and there were only about 10 houses so it’s not like we were dodging cars all the time.

Check with the clinic you’re using or planning on using, the one we went to, Shady Grove which is the largest in the country is really resistant to going to IVF with out trying IUI first. We did two rounds of IUI and our Dr basically said it wasn’t going to work and recommended moving on but they usually recommended 3

My husband used to work for a company that made facial recognition software. It’s being used way more than you realize.

I know they’re expensive but have you tried the Stokke Trip Trap. You can get them configured as a high chair but they are really meant to pull right up to the table.

I work for a manufacturing company and we just had an open bar at our Christmas party , we’ve had one at every year I’ve been here. The bill for one for the party at our out of state plant came across my desk a few days ago.

I was the same way I held my breath at every visit until we heard the heartbeat until well into my 6th month. She was our only embryo that made it to day five after two rounds of IVF so I was just waiting for something to go wrong.

My daughter isn’t even 6 months and people ask me if we’re having more. I always say we want more but it took 5 years and 50 grand to get this one so I don’t know if an other is going to happen.

Collection Agencies keep a % of what they collect anywhere from 10%-90% depending on the size and age of the debt.

My niece is 5 and recently got her ears pierced and she is over the moon about them. She is so proud and shows them off to everyone and tells the story of getting them pierced. If she had them done as a baby she would be missing out on all that now.

My daughter has red carseat/stroller and even if she is wearing pink head to toe people think she is a boy because i guess only boys can have red strollers.

My first thought was “someone is real mad Nick Jonas didn’t marry them”.

Lots of cologne, I feel like he’s one of the people where you can still smell the cologne for like a half hour after they get off the elevator.

I was obsessed with that thing , my mom wouldn’t get me one. I was convinced I would get 5 puppies but I know now I would have only ever gotten 3.

My MIL was a kindergarten teacher and retired 2 years ago. Kindergarten changed completely in the time she was teaching but most of it was in the past 10-15 years. When she started Kindergarten was practice for grade school, learning to be away from parents , wait in line , take turns along with learning letters and

Ok so I’ll just let the bank know I’m only working for fun and will not longer be paying my half of the mortgage.

People just don’t have them. My mom is Canadian so I grew up with one on the counter. I just got a new one a few weeks ago and a full kettle of cold water takes like 2 to 3 minutes to boil.
