Cigna. Now I know where the $10k+ I spent this year on copays and deductibles went.

You have seen the movie “Christine", haven't you?

Ran into the same BS recently. Found a used vehicle at Schumacher in FL at a fair, for current market, price. Was ready to leave a deposit when the true total showed over $2k in dealer junk fees. I walked away as I would advise most people to do.

Prices will increase for exactly that reason. Drilling starts are at record low, refineries shutting down or reducing capacity. As EVs predominate, there will be fewer gas stations and less competition. When the market for diesel cars collapsed, the price of diesel increased.

Its bad enough when back alley used car dealers play these games but even sadder when supposedly reputable dealers stoop down to this level. Was recently ready to buy from a Schumacher dealership. Walked away after they tried tacking on more than $2k in junk dealer fees, electronic filing fees and other profit grabs.

Telling people to use public transport and Uber is not exactly solving the problem of price gouging by the rental car companies.

Hmm, I wonder who the passenger voted for?

Especially when rates are really low, a longer term loan may make sense. My last vehicle was a 6 year loan. I paid it off in 3 but liked knowing the payment was lower in event of cash crunch.

Gibberish like this should not be coming from an alleged automotive journalist.

What a bunch of woke nonsense. If a male writer had written such jibberish about women, the mob would be looking to cancel his career.

If you think those tolls are .50 cents, you have not driven up 95 through MD.

I still recall being stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam one late night in the Chicago area. I figured there must be a serious accident up ahead. No, they were doing maintenance on toll booths. Rather than let traffic flow through they had a single toll booth open to collect what I recall was a .35 cent toll. These cities

1986 BMW 524TD. Sold it with over 300k miles and it was still running great.

Can we just end the nonsense of even having dealers?  Would anyone mourn the loss of Rimrock Kia of Billings, MT?

They sold a bunch of these until Consumer Reports tested one and gave it a scathing not acceptable review.  Brakes failed on one and they had to tie doors closed with rope.  In reality, these were little more than enclosed good carts.

@tjlazer. Sounds like you may be giving misguided advise to your clients.

Mainly it is the add on screwingsblike a 10% "shop supplies" fee.  Years ago the serpentine belt went in my Suburban.  NJ pep boys replaced it and charged a "difficult access fee" of about $60 dollars.  I did not think much of it until years later when I replaced the same belt in an auto parts store parking lot using

No surprise here in PA. I was just cruising down Rte 422 this morning. Pre-covid that road was a daily parking lot. Today, traffic was cruising along at 70. This did not stop the ricers and BMWs from bearing down on bumpers at 100 mph while recklessly weaving in and out of traffic. Ya know, the kind of behavior

I have no doubt there is a special place in hell for the Gordon Gecko, 1-percenters who decide that this is how they should spend their money while their neighbors struggle to survive during a pandemic.

The later VW and Audi wagons seem to be best bang for the buck.
