He said he wants a car he can drive mored than fix. That rules out SAAB.
Unfortunately almost all these lots follow the same story. Some hoarder leaves a bunch of nice old cars in a field to rot. He / she will not sell any of them either because “they are going to restore them” or they want some insane dollars for them. Eventually the hoarder dies or the city / town forces them to clean…
25 years ago, car sales meant great commission opportunities, a demo car, base salary with benefits. These days it is crap pay, awful hours, little or no benefits. DC. The city of Northern charm and southern efficiency.
Having lived in states with and without inspections, I generally support the idea. While living in AZ I regularly saw death traps with bald tires, no brake lights, etc. on a regular basis.
Virginia has done more to sour relationships between police and the public than every other state in the country combined. The epitomize using the police as a revenue generator to extort money from citizens.
One day my ‘86 Jaguar XJ6 starts sputtering and dies (ok, no big surprirse there). I have it towed to the nearby Jaguar Specialist who does both repairs and restorations.
I’ll believe it when I see it! Given that the USA has become a land of look alike appliances posing as cars, it would be nice to see some quirky French vehicles becoming available. Might be time to trade in my 1991 Peugeout Mi16!
