Actually, I read your entire comment. I addressed the phrase “black black” that you used to frame your entire opinion inferring that there is a singular way to express your cultural blackness... which is seriously flawed, period. Regardless of what words you chose to use.
She is black and that is known and visible however she isn’t “black black”, she isn’t using her music as a platform to express that cultural identity, her lyrical content is not involved with or preoccupied by her cultural identity nor has she (until recently) used it as platform for black activism.
Situations like this solidify my belief that when fighting for the marginalized, it may help more for those with privilege to put themselves on the line.
